Introduction
The Soviet Union had acquired most of it's naval possessions from the previous Russian Empire government making the majority of it's ships in service from pre-war designs with a couple exceptions in the smaller classes of destroyers and submarines.

This guide will showcase the historical and planned ships of the Soviet Union showcasing what they had planned to build if no war occurred as well as the ships they did produce alongside any modernisation's to any ship.

The Soviet Navy starts the game with 85 ships and a further 41 ships under construction adding a total of 126 ships at the start of the game ready to serve the Soviet Union.

Marat/Gangut Class

The Marat Class also known as the Gangut and Sevastopol Class are the only battleships in the Red fleet surviving the Russian civil war and the Great World Patriotic war with the exception of Poltava which was never repaired fully after her fire in 1919.

The Sovetskiy Soyuz Class (project 23) was going to be a group of 15 new battleships planned to be built and show of the might of the Soviet Union however all 4 of the ships that were laid down were cancelled and scrapped to be used to aid the war effort with only about 21% of the Sovetskiy Soyuz being completed and the others in less completed states.

The Bogatyr Class is the oldest class of cruisers in the red fleet with the Komintern being the only survivor out of the 5 ships. Due to it's old age making it stand out against the majority of other light cruisers in service around the world in the 1930's and 1940's it makes it's modernisation priority very low however it did get a quick refit to make it somewhat useful for the Patriotic war.

The Marti is the oldest ship in the Red Fleet being a relic from the 1890's however due to how many mines it can carry and how under equipped the Russian navy is during the 1930's it is kept around and converted into a mine layer from it's original usage as a Yacht.

The Svetlana class build during the First World war were a bit more capable than the previous class still in service with the Red Fleet, only the Krasny Krym survives in which in-game it has been placed under the Chervona Ukraina class.

Kirov Class

The Kirov class are the first new cruisers to be built for the Red Fleet since the first world war with the exception of completing two of the ships from that war after the war in the mid 1920's. The Kirov class (Project 26) are basically heavy cruisers.

The Maxim Gorkiy class (Project 26bis) were the sub class of the Kirov Class being more armoured and carrying depth charges and mines instead of a floatplanes, they were completed during the war with the final of the 4 being completed in 1944.

The Yakov Sverdlov Class is the oldest class of destroyer in the Red Fleet consisting of a single produced ship completed in 1913. At the time of her completion in 1913 she was one of the fastest destroyers in the world which would come in handy when her modernisation during the 1920's-1930's made her a division leader. In-game the ship is placed with the Orfey Class.

Derzky/Frunze Class

The Derzky class was another pre WW1 destroyer of 9 ships however only one which was renamed to Frunze survived from being scuttled or scrapped. The design is very similar to the previous class however one difference is the addition of Anti-Air II module in 1940 instead of Anti-Air I. In-game the ship is placed with the Orfey Class.

Orfey Class

The Orfey class is the first class consisting of more than one ship to survive the chaos of WW1 and the Russian civil war however like all Russian ships from that period some of the class was lost during the chaos. Like the previous 2 classes this class remains very similar to those however Anti-Air III is added to some ships of the class in 1943.

The Fidonisi class built during the war was a group of 8 ships however by 1936 is only a group of 4 ships in the Baltic fleet serving alongside the 2 surviving Izyaslav Class destroyers.

The Lenningrad and Minsk Classes (Project 1, Project 38) were a group of 6 destroyers built between 1932-1940 being the first class of destroyers the Soviets are building during the game's start date with 4 of them under construction with the first 2 almost completed.

The Tashkent Class (Project 20) was the result of the Soviets being unsatisfied with the Leningrad class destroyers already completed and so turned to foreign designs for assistance in which the Italians gladly helped to design the Tashkent's as destroyer leaders. Only one of the 4 planned ships were completed (it was completed in Italy).

The L-55 was a British submarine that was salvaged and repaired by the Red Fleet, in-game it's under the Series I Dekabrist class and has a very similar armament and engine power to the class it's paired with to make it not need a different design.
