Description
This mod is a modification of Jecrell's Call of Cthulu, Cosmic Horrors. The main differences involve removing the dependancy of JecsTools, which some users encounter TPS Performance issues.

As this is an XML version, several features have been stripped, while others have been replaced to some extent using the Vanilla Expanded Framework.

Included is also the Elseud textures that drastically improve the quality of the existing abominations, and was actually my main inspiration for making this mod.

This is still a W.I.P so by all means toss me comments below or in discord of any bugs, or possible feedback you may have.

If Jecrell, the creator of the original mod, has any issue with his, feel free to contact me on discord Ryflamer#0175 and I will take this down immediately.


TBD Changelist from the original is the following.
  • File clean-up and removed dependancy of Jecstools, and versions before 1.3.
  • Added proper load folder functionality and optimized existing patches.
  • Changed various damage workers to now use vanilla damage workers.
  • Changed thought acquisition method to now use VEF, instead of JecsTools.
  • Removed all incidents, which may or may not be added in some way, shape, or form at some point in the future.
  • Consolidated all factions into a one single, cosmic horror faction.
  • Re-balanced combat power of some enemies to be in line with the rest of the mod.

*Add Lovecraftian monsters to your RimWorld experience!* There is a lingering fear that strokes the hairs on the back of the necks of your colonists. Something terrible is coming, and there is little time to prepare. Cosmic horrors are already upon us.

Features:
This is an attempt to create the minor races of H.P. Lovecraft's weird fiction mythos in the RimWorld engine. Some behave the same as hostile factions that raid colonies such as mechanoids or insectoids. Others can be deadlier, however.

Adds the following cosmic horrors to your game:
  • Star-Spawn of Cthulhu
  • Shoggoths
  • Mi-Go
  • Deep Ones
  • Greater Deep Ones
  • Star Vampire
  • Dark Young
  • Chthonian
  • Dark Young

Notes:
  • Each monster has its own unique anatomical skeletons, organs, and body parts. Some special powers were given to psionic beasts.
  • Each monster has special sound effects.

Anomaly doesn't contain these creatures or anything very similar to them, and I feel this mod would be quite a nice edition for someone who wants some of the Anomaly-like horror content without doing an entire Anomaly-focused playthrough.

Does the mod just need a 1.5 tag update and works fine? Seems to be a great lightweight option for an Anomaly run

It seems this mod needs to be updated to be compatible with Vanilla Genetics Expanded's genome system which seems to have been compatible with the JecsTools variant, at least in the sense of generating eldritch genomes that do not appear to exist in the world after this mod is added.

I am assuming the faction should raid me? Although I haven't received a single raid from them, nor have I seen a single one on traders or quests.
