Sir Fairlight of House Excalibur - A Bretonnia Campaign

Description
For the LADY!

This is a beta build of a new crusade campaign I've created specifically for the streamer Fairlight_Excalibur. Please let me know in the comments or on Discord if you encounter an issue with any of the content within.

Warning - This start position has gotten substantially harder with the release of Chaos Dwarves. This is not an easy campaign, and is not designed to be; but it does function as intended. If you can't make headway, reduce your game difficulty.

This mod should contain the following:

Features:
- New Legendary Lord
- New Faction
- New starting position
- 16 new skills, 4 suspiciously renamed ones
- 4 new legendary items
- 4 new quest battles (Via a chained set of POIs)
- 2 new Crusader unit types (armored spearmen, crossbowmen)
* These units do benefit from Red-line lord skills, research, and traits pertaining to Men-At-Arms Spearmen and Peasant Bowmen. I was unable to add these units to the localized descriptions without data-coring and causing potential mod conflicts.
- New defensive building chain
- New Unique Landmark (Karak Dum)
- Probably way too much new text
- More lore friendly grail knights (Higher individual stats with a reduced unit size) as inspired by mgsanm's Super Grail Knights mod.




Known Issues:
  • Ya Boi's a Peasant - LL not starting with horse ancillary (FIXED)
  • Crusader Defenses say "Favor" instead of income (FIXED)
  • Crusader Defenses are duplicating unit availability cards on the building browser.(FIXED)
  • Unable to upgrade Crusader's Redoubt (FIXED)
  • Broken Rod of Mod-rator quest battle (FIXED)
  • Sir Fairlight is not properly wielding his sword while on the Griffon mount. (FIXED)
  • Poor spell-checking and copy editing in story text (FIXED)

Known Conflicts:
  • Mixu's Legendary Lords - This mod leverages wh_main_brt_artois, which Mixu's LL also uses. You cannot enable both mods at the same time. I'll fix this at a later date.
  • *Multiplayer* - Big question marks on this, as I've gotten some reports that it works fine, but the prevailing wisdom for modders on TW:WH3 is that any mod which requires scripting is strictly "Swim at your own risk" when used for multiplayer. In order to avoid datacoring startpos on the vanilla game, this mod uses Mixer as a scripting base to add the legendary lord and faction into a playable state. There's no good way to remove the need for scripting, without introducing the host of other potential issues futzing with startpos always entails. So I cannot vouch for the stability of any multiplayer game that uses this mod.
    If there is substantial interest, I can explore a version which does modify startpos directly and I think *might* be more stable on multiplayer. But I would likely release that as a separate mod with strict warnings since it would conflict with a lot of other modder content.

Hi, the crusader units have invisible bodies, only their weapons are visible. I checked it without any other mods so its not a compatibility issue.

cdir_military_generator_unit_qualities_table has been updated. This should no longer cause CTD.

@Fairlight - No worries chief, I did not take it as a direct request. This is all voluntary.

I was always gonna update this for the latest version release eventually. And a little extra meme-ry is all I needed to get the engine running. For Bretonnia! For the Empire! For Humanity!(fairB fairB fairB)

Okay, this is now working appropriately on the latest release. The faction is still functional, and all scripted missions are firing correctly. This has been lightly tested, so please let me know if anything is not working as expected.

I've not yet tackled reorganizing this into a new unique faction to improve compatibility with "Mixu's Legendary Lords", but I can give that a go sometime soon. In the meantime, it is safe for anyone who only wants to add the new Fairknights Crusade faction.
