About the mod

This submod adds a set of special rules from DrunkFlamingo's Tabletop Caps system for the Lords of the Legendary Characters mod.

The idea is to make these unique generals even more interesting by giving them distinct rosters. Not all of the LC have special rules, since most of them do not have a particular theme to them, even if they are all unique. I have done my best to translate from stories and lore of the LC that do have a theme, by which I mean, roughly speaking, a loreful special relationship to certain types of units.

So far, the characters affected are:

Chaos
- Valnir the Reaper
- Abrax the Bloody
- Slavin Kurz
- Nastasya Roskolnikov
- Amon 'Chakai
- Archaon's Herald and Lieutenants
- Kaarn the Vanquisher
- Sayl the Faithless
- Gutrot Spume

They follow the rules I made for my Special Tabletop Caps for Chaos mod. Valnir, Abrax, Archaon's Herald, his Lieutenants, Sayl, Gutrot, and Nastasya count as Mortal Lords, whereas Slavin and Amon 'Chakai count as a Daemon Lords. This means that for Valnir, Abrax, and Nastasya Daemon units of their respective gods will be more costly to field, while Slavin, Kaarn, and Amon 'Chakai will favor all Daemons over Mortals.

Archaon's Herald wields Undivided Knights more easily, while the Lieutenants wield their respective Marked Knights more easily, with the rest being more costly.

Empire
- Stefan von Kessel
- Thyrus Gormann
- Lietpold the Black

Stefan's army is characterized by swordsmen and a focus on melee infantry. Gormann's ideal army, as Stratovarius suggested, would be 19 Fire Wizards. I've given him reduced costs for Luminarks (even if they are not Fire). Lietpold is a treacherous bastard, so Knights will not follow easily, but Huntsmen will more easily join his cause.

High Elves
- Eldyra

As lady of Tiranoc and a brash leader of cavalry, Eldyra will wield chariots more easily, but will not favor skirmisher tactics.

Vampire Counts
- Vorag Bloodytooth

As a Strigoi lord, Vorag will favor beasts over cavalry.

Kislev
- Dmitri Tzaryov

As legendary placeholder character with an Empire army, Dmitri can wield allied Greatswords as Core.

Skaven
- Kratch Doomclaw
- Lord Morskittar
- Lord Sneek

As Supreme Warlord of Clan Rictus, Kratch wields Stormvermin aplenty, but his hatred of Clan Mors makes monstrosities costly. Morskittar uses his Mutant Rat Ogre at no particular cost. Sneek has a historic beef with Pestilens, so their troops will be less likely to follow orders, but as Eshin Council member, his Death Runners will play a big part in your army.

Beastmen
- Ragush of the Bloody Horn

As part of the legendary massacre of Kalkengard, he gets the Butchers of Kalkengard RoR unit as Core.

Dwarfs
- Helgar Longplaits
- Alrik Ranulfsson

Helgar led a legendary contingent of Slayers in the War of Vengeance, but was also attacked by King Drong's mining contingents. This means Slayers are Core, Miners are Special. As a Traditionalist, Alrik will severely dislike advanced Dwarf technology, favoring old-school methods of war.

Wood Elves
- Marrisith
- Oreon

Marrisith has less expensive Tree Kin, which are her bodyguard. Oreon has less expensive Wildwood Rangers, offset by more expensive Hawk Riders.

Characters like Nastasya have other fun little changes in roster rules apart from the above. Please refer to the Rules Discussion for details!

Bottom line & Compatibility

These army compositions are meant to be fun and add variety to your campaigns, so any feedback is welcome. Please use the discussions for extended comments on the rules.

At this time, I do not intend to release stand-alone versions of these rules.

In terms of compatibility, you can use this submod with other TTC submods, including the Special Tabletop Caps for Chaos and the TTC Compatibility Patch (Various). You cannot use this with Naeven's Special Rules for these same characters! They do different things, however, so if you choose one, you can choose the other in your next playthrough to have a different experience.

The following unit mods are supported:
- Stratovarius & co.'s Mortal Warriors of Nurgle (affects Valnir). Please use my Compatibility Patch if you are also using this mod, since that rounds out all the unit costs.

Thanks to OrangeJulivs, Not So Skelly Bones, and Stratovarius for permission to use the Legendary Characters image. Of course, thanks to DrunkFlamingo for the joy that is the TTC system.

Hey everyone, I've come back to fix and update these submods, so now this is also up and running again! I tested with the LC fix from Discord, in case anyone's wondering how I got LC to run right now.

Sorry, I'm currently not playing WH3 anymore, and haven't kept up with LC. I suggest switching to Naeven's patch while I decide what to do about this.

Have had this in mind for a while now, I need to get up to date with the new characters. Expect an update soon, but in like a couple of weeks at the earliest.
