Description
No longer actively maintained - but probably still works
I do no longer update my mods to support new content. That said, almost all my mods basically never need actual updating after patches. So this mod will very likely still work, just not affect recently added content. I do start the game once after patches to check if my mods cause crashes, and intend to keep fixing those critical problems if they arise.

Overview
AI units get increasingly potent buffs to some of their combat stats based on the rank of their lord, the number of regions the player controls, and/or the current turn number. So that battles do not become so much easier in the later game as the player outpaces the AI with buffs from skills, items and technologies.

Works also without the MCT, but because of different player skills and also the uneven difficulty of different races and campaigns, it is probably necessary for most players to be able to adjust the buff progression via the MCT.

Features
  • Melee Attack, Melee Defence, Weapon Damage, Missile Damage, Charge Bonus, Leadership, Missile Resistance and Ward Save are separately configurable
  • it is not recommended to use all of them, by default only a few are used
  • the mod makes all battle difficulties the same as Normal so you can use H or VH to get more sensible autoresolve results without getting the poorly designed vanilla AI buffs in battle

Tips & Details
  • buffs are applied to armies of AI factions the player is at war with, at the start of their turn or when war is declared
  • the buffs are removed if the AI fights against another AI without player involvement
  • some factions (rebels and quest battle factions) are unaffected because applying effects to them causes crashes
  • in rare cases as when an AI army had been fighting another AI on the same turn the player attacks them, buffs may not be applied
  • use the MCT option "Max Buff Level" to set a ceiling on how strong the buffs can get

Troubleshooting
Before reporting issues, make sure that you have the current version of the mod. Steam quite often fails to actually pull the newest version after a mod has gotten an update. To make certain that you have the current version, unsub from the mod, then wait a few seconds. Steam will then delete the mod file from your hard drive. Then resub to the mod and Steam will download the current version to your hard drive.
