Description
The Lazy Eight
Overview
The Lazy Eight is a compact container barge with a revolutionary hydrofoil propulsion system. It's so called Nova-Matth hydrofoil design allows top speeds up to 100 m/s

Price: $ 61'197.-

Features
The small container barge can be spawned in the small dock. It features a low, water tight bubble cockpit with bed and an access hatch to the engine room.

It's equiped with a single large engine and a water jet propulsion system. The engine is controlled by a speed set regulator. The only thing you have to do, is set the desired speed.
The engine receives air via an extenable snorkel, in case the barge finds itself in adverse weather and an air buffer in case of partial immersion.

When the set speed exceeds 30 m/s, the hydrofoils automatically lower and hover height regulation starts. If the payload is too heavy or the circumstances not ideal, an electric booster can be triggerd, to help the barge to achieve foil drive.

It features a heading hold autopilot and an additional NFT interface, which allows the barge autopilot to move it autonomously to a target waypoint (see NFT protocol).

Operation
Start-Up
  1. Enter the cockpit by holding the hatch button until you're inside
  2. Switch ignition ON
  3. Start engine
  4. Set desired speed

CAUTION:
Foil-Mode is not recommended in heavy seas. Immersion depth of foils can be adjusted in the engine room to help with higher waves and/or unbalanced payload.

WARNING:
Tight turns and rapid decceleration can bear the risk of capsizing the vessel! Especially with heavy payload.

Loading container
NOTE:
Loading a container has to be done in the editor or via external means.
  1. Lower the railing of the barge with the associated button on the deck
  2. Make sure the connectors are active for attaching to the container
  3. Place container on connectors until latches lock
  4. Raise railing to increase crew safety

It's engine system isn't fully adapted to the new fluid system. I made a little fix a while ago, maybe I didn't update the workshop variant. Try again with to upload from now.

even with the E boost and calmest weather it doesnt seem to ever plane properly :(

Try to use the electric booster (up arrow). It seems it's nowadays always necessary.

i cant seem to get the speeds anymore it is much slower maxing out at 20-30kmph and not properly planeing

That's true. Actually, the craft is designed for low winds. But you can skip bad weather in the bed inside the cockpit. ;-)

not very good on massive waves though on max throttle
