[Mexpex] Thruster FX - Framework (7)

Description
Thruster FX - Framework [TFX]

This mod does not do anything by itself. It used as a framework for other mods

Thruster FX is a framework that makes it possible for modders to easily add particle effects such as flames or smoke to thruster block without the need to setup a custom script. You just need to add a definition file containing the settings and add this mod as a required item. See guide and example mod

Features:
  • Pick particle effects to use
  • Set the active thrust range for each particle
  • Toggle if its an atmosphere only effect
  • Toggle if vanilla flame should be on/off
  • Set custom emissive material. Emissive intensity depends on thrust

  • Some color controls
  • Improve guide
  • Smash bugs

  • For issues
    To speed up the process:
Before posting, check if you are up to date or if there has been any updates since you had the issue.
Add the crash log/exception and a description of what you did before,
Was this in single player/hosted mp or a dedicated server.
For longer descriptions/issues and logs, make a discussion thread

Guide (still wip)

Some mods that currently use it
Hydrogen Thruster Visuals previous name "Enhanced Thruster Visuals"

Big thanks!
to Draygo for creating the Definition Extension API that made this possible

I have the game crash with this mod and related mods when I select Vanilla industrial large hydrogen thrusters. It also crashes when encounters spawn in with these engines. Is there a mod load order for this one?

@Wellory - Might need to have a look then. I believe there was a similar issue before but that got solved tho..
To be honest i didnt remember Isaards message.. I havnt heard anything about this issue except from the two of you.

For some reason, the thrusters placed in survival (not only from the "Hydrogen Thruster Visuals", but also from the "Highfleet thrusters pack") have bugged texture (they constantly glow and do not emit particles, until replaced via creative, or after reloading the world)
Is there any fix for it?
(same problem as @Isaard have)

@Krat3n - No idea, im not touching sound.

@squeech - isnt that a vanilla thing? I guess it looks like its fully off since the "idle" effect/flame is disabled by the config used in "Hydrogen Thruster Visuals"
Squeech 16 Jul, 2024 @ 11:36am
Would love to use this but thrusters now consume hydrogen in idle. Is this intended?

is it normal that when i install this mod, all of the vanilla thrusters sounds just doesn´t sound at all? or is it me just being dumb? :c

@TheNightOwl
Yes, in the current iteration its suppose to be "disabled" once the thruster is off/0% , since the idea have been to use it for "heat" effects.
If its an issue that it goes down to 0 I could possibly add a setting that allows you to set a minimum limit so that it always got a bit of glow (always and/or when turned on).
TheNightOwl 28 May, 2024 @ 10:43am
just double checking but is it supposed to completely disable the emissive ness of the emissive material when the thruster is on 0% thrust or turned off?
