Description
A rework of tenants to make them a bit more rewarding.

Changed the rent table for almost all vanilla tenants to make them give higher pixel counts. To balance this change, colony deeds are more expensive.

Beyond these vanilla adjustments, there are also new tenants!
New tenants include:
  • Miner - Provides ores
  • Apothecary - Provides medical supplies
  • Engineer - Provides salvaged components
  • Hunter - Provides mob drops
  • Gardener - Provides plant fibre, crops and flowers
  • Caretaker - Provides nothing except ambiance
  • Penguin - Provides a penguiny feel

And of course more are planned. Check the spreadsheet here for how to get these new tenants and for their rent tables (will give a warning for sending you to google sheets, unsure how to get around that):

Planned Stuff:
  • Ghosts - normal villagers with a more haunted feel. Will have their own haunted furniture set.
  • Battle chefs - guards welding giant cutlery. May have some special furniture but this is undecided.
  • Otterfolk - cute furry friends. Stand a bit shorter than normal humanoids but not as small as penguins. Like fishing and finding pretty rocks.
  • Orekids - little balls of sentient rock standing at penguin height. Will likely share miner rent tables.
  • Penguin furniture - a furniture set to go with the penguin tenants

Built in Compatibility:
Themed Colony Deeds (increases deed prices to match tenants reworked balancing)

I found a weird error in my log while trying to solve a different issue. Apparently it's having trouble parsing the space station tenant, and Agent Ransack tells me the error is most likely here (the only other mods I have that patch "station.tenant" are species mods, which I'm assuming are just adding dialogue for those particular tenant/species combinations).

The whole section of the log is too long to paste here, but it does say "Caused by: (JsonException) Improper conversion to JsonArray from object", if that helps.

im gonna try this as an alternative to the tenant mod which seems to be clashing with the rpg mod i have.

bar tenders sounds fun! there actually is a bar tender novakid npc in unmodded starbound tho its a funky sombrero dude. the barman requires 24 blocks worth of saloon tagged items, if you google starbounder tenants you should be able to find the page that will help you summon em. i havent been active with starbound recently so its hard to say if id get around to making my own bartender any time soon. oh and if you dont like the vanilla barman there is a mod on the workshop that changes his outfit so something youd expect outta a modern bar

should still work with that too yeah i cant imagine anything breaking between them
