I made custom animations that get rid of the limp while keeping the cool weapon resting on the shoulder pose.
However, changing the animations means this mod will not be fully compatible with overhauls or anything that changes the stats of slaughtermasters, without a submod.

Sorry im not going to be able to set that up for you. Im away on a trip for next 2 weeks with no access to the game
I agree that butcher models look great while slaughtermasters look tamer and less maw-committed than them, thays why i spruced up the lords and have no plans to touch the hero

Actually, addendum: I think I like the vanilla butcher models better than the vanilla slaughtermaster models, so if these reskins could replace the butchers, and the the butcher models replace the slaughtermasters that would be ideal, but that's bonus points and probably extra effort. Really all I need is these reskins to replace butchers because they're HYPE and I want one in Groth Onefinger's army, and he's modeled off a butcher and I'd like them to feel distinct. I neglected how good this mod was at first glance because I hadn't yet realized the butchers and slaughtermasters were so similar, but with slaughtermasters having a less brutal design for some reason. I really do love your design aesthetics!

I dont follow, you want butchers to use my slaughtermaster models while slaughyermasyers use their vanilla models, is that it?

Would you be willing to make a version of this for butchers? Now that I'm deeper in a playthrough I'm realizing the appeal, as butchers and slaughtermasters look too similar, but I'm using Nerul's Groth Onefinger, which is a slaughtermaster. I'd like to turn him into a hero stack along with a lore of beasts butcher and still have him feel unique to the rest of the stack.

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing an iteration of Groth Onefinger from you either of course, but this is already done and I'm hoping it would be a super simple matter.

so somehow they suddenly started being able to cast magic again several battles later, dont know why, but eh i cant complain, just glad it wasnt a mod haha, mby it was just some funkyness of CA games?

Its a reskin but it does change the animation sets used by slaughtermasters to a custom one with normal walking instead of the limp.
No idea how yhat would interact with a mod that adds new lores of magic, ive never tried it myself
