Description
Hello Folks,

today marks the 2-year-anniversary of my first upload on the workshop, the WBS70 Plattenbau Hochhaus.
I wanna use this upload to somewhat reflect on my 2-year journey on this platform. (Also includes the anniversary-edition of my PH12G, which lights up a big '2' at night. It also includes a somewhat golden color for the facade tiles.)
So, to commemorate my 2-year-anniversary, you can place this huge golden "trophy" cuboid in your city.

Now, where to start? First a disclaimer: the "WBS70 Plattenbau Hochhaus" isn't actually my first asset, just the first I uploaded!
The keen eye can see the actual first asset in the first screenshot from the "WBS70 Plattenbau Hochhaus", in the top left corner. It's called the "Heckerthochhaus" from Chemnitz.
My asset there doesn't even feature any texture apart from the diffuse, that's why the windows look so funky. I still have the .blend file though!

Speaking of 3D-modeled stuff in general, even this building isn't my first. I learned working with Blender in school, but even back then I already worked on the Erfurt TS69 schools.
One of the assignments was to create a advertisement for a product of our choosing, so I created this: a render of a crude Lada Niva infront of the half finished school building.

Afterwards, my journey led towards the age-old Microsoft Train Simulator[en.wikipedia.org], a game which I had been playing since my childhood-days.
So it was about time I created something for it. My biggest, most difficult project of that time was this (West-)German railbus, the VT98 with working doors, interior and so on.
I also created the East German version of this train, the BR172 "Ferkeltaxe", which can also be seen here on my twitter.

After some time, my modeling career took a turn towards Cities:Skylines. After playing the game for more than half a year, it was time to try my hand at asset creation.
At this time I was already really interested in "Plattenbau", and as there was next to none existent on the workshop, the first model had to be a "Plattenbau".
Now, the "Heckerthochhaus" isn't really a "Plattenbau", but I still count it into that architectural style and period.
I somewhat scrapped that project later on and instead worked on a 11-floor block from Leipzig Grünau, pretty close to the one I uploaded here.
Unfortunately, only two screenshots exist of that project, it made it into the game, but I lost the file somewhere in the process.

What came afterwards was finally the WBS70 Plattenbau Hochhaus, a building which I found many resources of it on the internet, so creating it was rather straight-forward.
This building is important to me, even 2 years later. When I first released it, I never could've imagined it would lead me to the point where I'm currently at.
After the first initial release of the building, a second, updated version hit the workshop 13 days later. It finally featured a colormap (although pretty funky now that I've tested it), detailed balconies, and some other details.
4 months later I released the third version, the first very important milestone for me. The building was featured in Biffa's Top Ten Mods for Cities Skylines (September 2020),
which was really huge for my career back then. This version was left untouched for nearly 2 years, which bugged me more and more over time. Once I noticed the 2-year-anniversary of the original upload was coming up, I started on the fourth version.
This brings us to today, the 4th version of this building, and a lot of memories.

The PH12G was never my favorite my building, nor was it the community's favorite. Many of my uploads overshadowed the building. It's also far too simple to really pose a challenge for me. There's not enough interesting details on it so I can grow with my modeling skills.
Many other buildings made me find solutions for specific problems, which then stuck with my other assets from then onward.
The PH12G was never that building, instead, it was the building which would always feature all the new details and bits and bobs once updated by me. And I intend to keep it that way, just for the sake of it.
Back then I said "Let's see if there will be another 3 versions of the same building :D", and as it seems, this will happen eventually.
From the third to fourth version, many things happened. I got my first commissions, hit 500 subscribers, started working on trams and props for a change, got featured a second time in Biffa's Top Ten Mods for Cities Skylines (November 2021)
and as the most recent event, I made it into the local newspaper of my city, mostly because of this upload.

Now, what's left is the most important:
A huge
Dankeschön
to all of you lovely people, who supported me over the past the 2 years. All the reappearing names in the comments, on my twitter, all the feedback which led me to improving my stuff, all the inspiration for projects, all the interesting stories.
I also wanna give some special thanks to people, who especially made a good impression on me over these years.

First,
AmiPolizeiFunk, who reached out to me to help him with his Berlin built, which was a really big chance for me to show my work!
Thank you for the nice collaborations, the input, the resources, and the nice conversations in-between. Oh, and don't worry, the boomerang will eventually get done, I promise ;)
Second,
_rupiks, who played a big part on the "Plattenbau WBS81-6 No.1" project, one of my favorite projects up to this date. (Also a big milestone in my modeling career!)
This lovely guy has kept in touch ever since that project, the interesting conversations and life updates always fill me with joy.
Last but not least:
=D= Comrade Intense. I joined his Discord Server back in October 2021, and this server and all the resources along with it really helped me out, especially understanding modeling on a fundamental level.
So thanks for all the work you do for the community, and the eagerness to help other creators and their uploads!

I also wanna thank SvenBerlin, clus, Chamëleon TBN, Yosh, Titan and Brammered. Steam limits the characters of the description, so I couldn't say my full thanks, sorry!

Now, once again, a huge
Thank you
to each and everyone of you, even if your name was not written down here, I still appreciate you lots! All the nice words and interactions around my uploads kept me motivated through these 2 years, and I hope it continues that way into the future.
