Great Lakes Schooner Lucia A. Simpson c1885

Description
Lumber Schooner, Lucia A. Simpson (1875 - 1935)

The Lucia A. Simpson was launched in 1875 from the shipyard of Rand & Burger in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Said to be the fastest Lumber schooner of her time, the Lucia A. Simpson for hew first few years carried various cargoes around Lake Michigan. After a few years the Lucia A. Simpson was then put into the lumber trade of upper lake Michigan, serving for 27 years as one of the fastest lumber schooners on the lakes. Following her Lumber career the Lucia A. Simpson would be converted into a salvage boat, serving as a reliable salvage boat for 20 years. By 1929 the Lucia A. Simpson was showing her age, being one of the oldest ships serving on the lakes at that time. This aging hull would nearly be the cause of her sinking in a strong gale, being towed into Kewaunee harbor by the Ann Arbor car ferry no.7. Following this near sinking, the Lucia A. Simpson was towed to Sturgeon Bay where she was laid up for repairs. However the owners abandoned the prospect of fixing their old schooner due to the extensive wear, so the Lucia A. Simpson was stored at the Surgeon Bay Shipbuilding Company. In 1934 the Manitowoc Maritime Museum started to look into the prospect of purchasing the last schooner on the lakes, but on December 3rd, 1935 a fire broke out at the Sturgeon Bay Shipbuilding Company. The 1935 fire destroyed the Lucia A. Simpson and four other ships, leaving nothing but a line of charred keels along the bank of Sturgeon Bay.

i doubt anyone will ever reply but can you make a manual wind so we can not have to rely on the achual wind plus let the sails move to look realistic

I did indeed have intentions on finishing it eventually, however due to life things I haven't touched this game in a very long time now. But I would pick it back up if I find the time soon. I have a lot of primary documents from the era which show interior layouts and lithographs of many similar palace steamers.

I haven't played in a long time since I have played, however I can explain that the ship is indeed inherently slow, if it has gotten slower from updates I would not know. In the case of the fire I am not sure, I have never had a problem with it going out entirely, that is unless you try to put it out.

Even with the wind at 30 and behind the ship moves very very slow also fire doesnt spread mine wentout after 2 min
