SMR Hammurabi Scythe Chariot

The first horses were not strong enough to withstand the weight of a rider, and horseback riding was a difficult skill to master. This made chariots the first use of horses in warfare, before cavalry as we know it, and dominated the battlefield during the bronze age. However, chariots were phased out since cavalry was overall much more practical. Some heavy chariots with blades attached - scythe chariots - were developped but by the iron age their impact was mostly psychological. By the time of the late Roman Republic and the Roman Empire, their results were insignificant and didn't save their armies against professional roman legions. Chariots however kept being used by Rome, for racing, until the late Antiquity.

This chariot has been named after Hammurabi, a king of Babylon famous for his law code.
