Description
Mk4 DVT (Driving Van Trailer)/ 822XX

Description: A modified mk4 coach with a cab slapped in, the DVT is a good way of utilising push/pull formations which can help save resources on more than 1 locomotive and also has a hollow body behind the cab with 2 large operable doors leaving room for mail, cargo or whatever else you can cram in there. This is intended to be used in the intercity 225 set however it’s open connector design means I (and you fellow train builders) can design more locomotives to be compatible with it. The DVT has a similar cab to that of a class 91. It’s a very robust build as it’s been made to translate all throttle, brake, etc step inputs and outputs into 0 to 1 making it very compatible when connected properly.

Since this is a DVT, this means it acts as a master/slave unit however it cannot move without the aid of a coupled locomotive.
This is a paintkit, this means you can download, paint, decorate, save as your own and upload to the workshop, please give credit for the initial build :)

Specifications:
Designed Top speed - 135mph
Standard C.T.S multiple working (Composite Transfer System)
Air brake supply brake system
Buzzer system for intercity 225 set
Revised DSD system (Driver Safety Device)

Class 91 or train with relevant inputs/outputs needed to move the unit.

Please connect to a class 91 or any vehicle with a air supply on channel 19. However this can be turned off in editor with the Ignore air supply switch shown in bright green in the last screenshot.
To drive:
1. Enter the unit through one of the various doors
2. Go to the driving cab, then push and hold the Pantograph Up button until the Transformer Bus Fault Light goes out.
3. Turn on the master switch.
4. Select the desired driving direction with up/down arrow keys and press the reset DSD button with spacebar.
5. Release the brakes with a/d until the Brake Pipe needle reaches 0.
6. Set the appropriate lighting configuration.
7. Slowly apply the throttle.

To paint:
Try avoid changing anything on the inside as the train already has some decor, if you wish however you can do it, just be extremely careful what you remove and always test afterwards. For those painting the exterior, go nuts but again I advise painters to be careful around the cab sections as those contain composite blocks which are needed for the train.

Driving notes:
-Step 4 Braking will cut the throttle in a similar manner to DRA to avoid wheelslip.
-The top speed of the train depends on the number of cars connected.
-Be mindful of when you are applying throttle and brake as there is a small delay in the input signal reaching the locomotive.

Lighting configuration index:
1. Day lights
2. Night lights
3. Marker lights only

Inputs/Outputs channels (for connecting your own locomotive to the DVT)
32. Master Signal (both)
30. Pantograph (both)
29. Throttle (output, 0-1)
28. Brake (both, 0-1)
27. Reverser (output, 1 = back, 2 = neutral, 3 = forward)
10. Air brake value (input, 0-1) [bottom connector only]

For your own diesel/custom locomotive setup, here are some tips:
-The pantograph also behaves like an engine on/off switch, feel free to rename the switches and save as your own!
-The transformer bus light and motor fan lights now become irrelevant (they are intended to only work with the class 90/91 locomotive) so you can remove them from the composite panel if you wish.
-If your locomotive does not have an air supply setup with respect to the relevant channels. You can still disable the air brake release system with the above mentioned green toggle switch.
