Description
The work on Overthrow continues!

Overthrow is a dynamic and persistent revolution campaign mod for Arma 3.

Overthrow: Community Edition (previously Rekter Edition) is a continuation of the Overthrow Plus project by Nifnat

The goal of the project is to update the Overthrow codebase to allow for easier modification and enhanced performance, while also adding new features and fixing bugs, trying to stay faithful to the original vision of Overthrow.

The mod is in active development, and bugs and issues may occur, even to the save system. Making backups is highly recommended!

Current features
  • Ability to change enemy faction (RHS, 3CB)
  • Warehouse inventories are separate
  • Warehouse arsenal no longer resets loadout
  • Improved warehouse search
  • Resistance cap speed increased 4x if NATO isn't present
  • VCOM has been removed
  • New gendarmerie units
  • Performance improvements
  • Security & bug fixes
  • New save system allows for save transfers and back-ups
  • Ability to disable random loadouts for NATO
  • And so much more...

Issues
  • Saves are NOT compatible with other versions of Overthrow

FAQ
Q: Do I have to use ACE?
A: Yes. Overthrow has been designed to be played with ACE from the start.
Q: Can I use 'ACE no medical' mods?
A: No. Overthrow requires that the medical items are present.
Q: How do I change the faction?
A: Click the "Parameters" button in the role selection screen.
Q: Do I load only this, or Overthrow and this?
A: Load only this mod! Do NOT load other versions at the same time!
Q: Do I need any DLC?
A: None are required but Apex is very much recommended.
Q: Can I make my own version?
A: Yes, absolutely! If you make something cool, considering making a pull request for it on GitHub and I may merge it into this version as well.
Q: I made a campaign for a new map! Should I release a new version?
A: In my opinion, no. Just create a pull request on GitHub, and if everything is alright, we will add your custom campaign right into this mod!

And finally while it's technically possible to play it locally and solo (I did so), I REALLY wouldn't recommend doing that. Buy a server and host it on that with a few friends.

Civilian gameplay isn't just an afterthought either, it can be a genuinely powerful tool. In my last playthrough most of the money I made was from leasing and real estate, I'm talking MILLIONS; look for the buildings that sell for 70k at 100% stability, they give the highest lease income and the income adds up fast. You can also buy businesses and staff them with employees, if you control a port you can sell what they produce.

Crafting is included as well but in a simplistic way, and honestly a lot of the recipes don't make sense. You can scavenge parts for crafting off of car wrecks or buy them from hardware stores, and most of what you're going to be crafting is medical supplies (and explosives if you get lucky looting NATO vehicles and troops and find the right things to use).

Grey-area is there too, you can become a drug dealer. Dealing drugs and doing missions for gangs destabilizes the surrounding area, making it easier for you or the gangs to take control and weaken NATO.

Split into two parts due to character length. I'll try and give you a QRD:

Overthrow is a 'resistance simulator' similar to Antistasi but not 1:1 the same. Antagonist is NATO+Gendarmerie and the preferred map is Tanoa. You can play it on other maps but I wouldn't do so. Overthrow is more flexible than other resistance type scenarios and allows for civilian gameplay on top of the combat. It's definitely jank sometimes but it's fun.

The missions you receive from the various factions are the usual, and most of it is operative transport and assassination. Occasionally they'll ask you for guns or to capture a town (in the latter case they'll help you stabilize it afterwards). The factions that spawn on the map are dependent on what mods you have enabled, keep this in mind .

I just discovered this mod and can't help feeling that the description here could benefit from a bit more general overview of what this mod actually does. It sounds like it *might* be something really interesting, but I can't tell what its function is from the description here, and all the referenced previous mods are similarly uninformative, and in the end lead back to the original that just says its no longer under development. Is it classified information?

Overthrow Ideas:

Make system a 3DEN logic module like OPCOM — drop-in ready for any map.

Update wiki — shift setup to 3D markers instead of script editing. (objectives. sqf, and towns)

Add GUI to pick factions, building types (shops, offices, factories) for common maps (Altis, Tanoa, CUP). pre start.

More gameplay variety — cartel, PMC, tycoon paths, heists, hire options.

Multiplayer flexibility — let players join NATO, police, or OPFOR, not just independent.

Keep getting wanted + shot-up when I steal an IDAP vehicle. Is that a feature in this mod?

All jobs confused. Waypoint went disappeared when arrived not show up another waypoint, I got 2 M4A1 in inventory they no box for collection items like 2 out of 19 collect more then finish job.
Other 'need electricity' are confused not show up another waypoint & Toolkit can't repair any vehicle.
I play Antistasi Ultimate is better easy & clear have jobs/missions.

Any idea if it is possible to get rid of the "stolen" message on a stolen car? So you can drive it like it's a legal car.
