Ironclad Frigate - SS Esquimalt

Description
The SS Esquimalt is a tall steam-propelled, ocean-going ironclad frigate. Named after the Canadian town of Esquimalt on the Pacific coast.

Designed for another day and age - she retains masts and guns fixed in broadsides, and uses a steam engine I "found" in the sawyer terminal. No guidance systems other a compass, and your own eyes + a barrel of carrots in the canteen. The engine may as well be the most advanced equipment onboard.

The good news is:
The Esquimalt is built as a war-fighter from the ground up. Easy to use and easy to maintain. Ramming speed!

Features
  • Optimised design - The ship should be easy to run. TFW 10m long fishing boats have laggier hulls.
  • The right facilities for war-fighting - Armoury, hospital, two tool-lockers, maintenance room.
  • Ammunition trolley - quickly supply the deck guns furthest from the magazine.
  • Great Cabin - The biggest, most luxurious space on the ship! Complete with the captain's bedroom, a lounge with a conference table and bookshelf.

Startup Procedure
  • Start the boiler. Head down to boiler room in the 3rd (lowest) deck, and turn on the boiler's key.
  • Set boiler. Set the boiler temperature to above 100 (ideally 140) to quickly generate steam.
  • Control the Helm. Head back to the helm of the ship (near the stern on the top deck).
You can throttle up with speed once the boiler pressure is greater than 5. Monitor the boiler in the rear cabin behind the helm.
TO TURN OFF THE BOILER: set boiler temperature back to ZERO. The firebox will stop generating heat.

Notes
  • The aimed range of the gun is only measured between the gun barrel and the DECK, not to the horizon. In rough seas it only works well as a relative measurement to adjust your aim.
  • Flood control pumps and lighting can be controlled from the maintenance room, found in engineering, second deck.

Sorry I have since quit the game. F*** geometa. Their horrendous update a month ago pretty much broke everything I ever made.

Oh yeah you should also probably make the speed realistic

It's in the lowest deck, on the front of the boiler.
Follow the startup procedure.

yes ship hull is pure maple.
The "iron" is actually a bullet proof coating of hardened maple syrup.

the ship is supposed to be crewed with beavers
