Steel Bridge

Description
Wait, how'd this not have a description? Bleh, I SWEAR I added one...

This map is another one based on Portland, Oregon. Specifically, the MAX Light Rail system on a unique bottleneck across the Willamette River near the heart of downtown. Four of four and a half lines run through this double-track segment, dividing evenly towards downtown in the West but with only one going North to the East and the rest combining all the way to Gateway TC.

I say "four of four and a half" - that's because the fifth route, the Orange Line, converts to/occasionally from green or yellow line trains at the old terminus at PSU. So really, every line kinda crosses here? Technically no, practically yes.

The Steel Bridge has actually been featured in another level before. No, not that MAX Endless map I made, but instead the first timetable map I got into the game, Wading the Willamette. The bridge is double-deck, with the top deck for Light Rail and Road traffic and the bottom deck for Trains and Pedestrians. The real thing that makes this bridge interesting is its unique design - it's a lift bridge that can lift each deck separately. This means if a boat is coming, the road and light rail traffic probably won't be hindered, as only the lower deck needs to be lifted to let smaller vessels pass.

This map represents only the light rail on the top deck, though due to Rush Hour restrictions, it does miss out on some cool parts of the region. There's a double-track wye by Interstate/Rose Quarter, and a smaller wye by Union Station alongside a bunch of weird crossovers and a few train storage tracks. The real oddity that sadly can't be represented here is how the trains to Union Station swap from right-hand running on the bridge to left-hand running due to the one-way streets in the region.

Alright, enough ramble about the bridge. Have fun!
