Description
The Vimana class vessel was designed with the intent of safely delivering and deploying men and materiel to the surface of most planets, as well as function as a sort of emergency FOB. To that end, she was gifted a cavernous, pressurized hangar bay with a drive up ramp, to make on- and off-loading practical. Four large cargo bins, plus numerous smaller ones, provide her with plenty of room to supply her charges, or function as a supply transport in her own right. A jump range of over 2000 km makes for quick and efficient deployment of those assets. Two full sized refineries, as well as a pair of assemblers, allow her to manufacture whatever is required, as well, and an ore detector allow for simplified identification of dig sites.

Not intended to be directly in the line of fire, the Vimana is constructed of light armor to maximize her lifting capabilities. That said, she's still equipped with a self repair projector, a back up helm, and welders in her thruster bays. In case of damage or wear and tear, she boasts incredible ease of internal access to virtually all her working parts. A high visibility projection overlay is available to expedite repairs, as well. While she is armed, the focus of her firepower is to defend herself from strike craft or drones. This consists of four Assault Cannon Turrets, four Gatling Turrets, and eighteen exterior Interior Turrets.

She's equipped with full living accommodations. This includes two cabins for four, a captain's quarters, a full scale medical bay, a back up survival kit, four cryotubes, and a lounge with a skylight. She also has some built in entertainment options for her crew and passengers. Automatic LCD, automatic doors, a RADAR system, an improved artificial horizon, and a damage display is provided for easier use and networking with fellow B.A.S. assets in the fleet. Two dorsal connectors allow for parasite craft or external refueling of additional vessels, two in-bay connectors allow the same, and a ventral connector allows the ship proper to fuel up on a pad

*Zero-G Performance Under Current Load:

Identified a, frankly stupid, overlook on the connector conveyors.

OK. Updated the Vimana. I thought it was gonna be a slight overhaul. Oh man.... No. I massively improved the access to internal bits for repairs. Totally rebuilt and redesigned the bridge, added a captain's quarters, increased clearance in the rear half of the hangar bay, partially rebuilt the engine room, and added a few additional thrusters and gyroscopes.
