Status Update: I don't have great plans with this mod since CA implemented the unit upgrading in the Champions of Chaos DLC. There are other mods that use that system instead and do the same thing. (That said this mod still works fine.)

Allows you to upgrade some of the units into other units if they have a high enough experience rank.

We've avoided upgrades that make no lore sense or are a huge combat style jump (for example going from cavalry with bow to lance).
If you can recruit the unit you're upgrading to locally the rank requirement is lowered by 2, if you can recruit it globally it's lowered by 1. The upgrade cost is also scaled by this.
Units will now keep half of their rank (rounded down) when upgrading.

This is a script mod, so compatible with everything (yes, that means SFO etc.), submods just allow for upgrade paths for new units the mods add.
It can be added and removed in existing saves.
I tried to make it compatible with MP, but currently no idea if it actually is.

Has some options via the Mod Configuration Tool (MCT). You can enable upgrades for AI factions with this.
You can disable unit upgrades that come with this mod, if you only want upgrades from another mod or from a submod.
The upgrades will check for unit caps, and will check the cap limits in the Tabletop Unit Caps mod if you have that mod enabled.

All the possible unit upgrades are definitely subject to change, and it's something I can change easily. Use the discussion thread below for that.

Mod no worky?
If the mod doesn't work for you the most likely cause is your ingame scripts are broken because some other mod you have has a script error and that makes other script mods stop working as well. Try this mod by itself to make sure.

and there is no way this mod can be aware of the Warband Upgrade Ultimate upgrades since they're a completely different system that isn't script-driven

I've updated this mod for my personal use (partially reworked it and added all the new units from the DLCs into the upgrade chain). I haven't implemented the building requirements for the upgrades yet, but otherwise, the mod is fully functional for both the AI and the player.

Would it be okay if I published this updated version on the Workshop so that others who are interested can use it too? Of course, I would give you full credit as the original author.

The UI panel with the buttons hovers a bit higher when there's upgrades available, compared to the vanilla panel.
It means when you move your mouse from the unit card to the buttons, the panel disappears due to the gap inbetween.

@prop joe, Hi! Appreciate your work! Based on my tests, this mod really seems to help the AI upgrade units when used together with 'Warband Upgrade Ultimate'. It looks like the upgrades follow the paths from the Warband Upgrade Ultimate mod, but I'm not 100% sure if this is correct or if every faction can actually perform these upgrades.

Could you please confirm or deny this? Are the mods truly compatible in this way?

@prop joe can chance you'd still work on updating this mod? It helps to enable the AI to upgrade their armies to the latest and greatest available to them while using Warband Upgrade Mods from Bagholder and Last of the Romans. Thats what some players are claiming.
