Rusters - Early-game Faction Pack

Description
An early game faction pack that can spawn all the way out in Iron territory and as far in as Naonite space.

The tech level is restricted to almost exclusively Iron & Titanium to make it appropriate for the regions of space in which it can spawn (no shields on the ships, no hangars or fighters.)

Integrity field generator coverage is no greater than 30% of the total ship volume. This is to prevent the ships from feeling unkillable in the early game.

Block count is deliberately low across nearly every ship grid in this pack. This should result in good sector performance.

This pack includes the following ships and stations:
- Cutter, Light Corvette (2 variants, 4 slots)
- Slingshot, Torpedo Corvette (2 variants, 5 slots)
- Mangalore, Heavy Corvette (3 variants, 6 slots)
- Deliverer, Frigate (2 variants, 7 slots)

- Dredger, Mining Ship (2 variants)
- Lugger, Freighter (2 variants)
- Quadhauler, Heavy Freighter

- Ruster Generic Station (3 variants)
- Ruster Equipment Dock (2 variants)
- Ruster Repair Dock (2 variants)
- Ruster Resource Depot (2 variants)
- Ruster Shipyard (2 variants)
- Ruster Trading Post (2 variants)
- Ruster Mine (2 variants)

Most of the blueprints were designed specifically to be used by NPCs and so do not have their own Steam workshop submission for player use. The ones that do (the Mangalore corvette and Deliverer frigate) have been depowered in this faction pack compared to their player-use versions.

Very generally, it's best to decide on a set of mods before you generate your galaxy.

It's possible to add/remove mods (faction packs are considered a mod) in the middle of a playthrough, but in the case of cation packs this will have no effect on existing discovered sectors.

Basically if you've already visited a region of space it will not be change. Existing factions that you've already encountered will not update themselves to use a faction pack that you've just subscribed to.

My understanding is that new sectors and regions of space that you have not explored yet can generate with a new faction that will use the faction pack you have just subscribed to and enabled for your save. I have not personally tested this, so I can't verify.

I uploaded this because there's a distinct lack of early game, low-tech faction packs on the workshop.

Most people upload the creations that they are most proud of, which usually includes shields and hangars and such. It's a little jarring to have someone else's faction pack installed and to run into it immediately in your first iron/titanium ship and to have to deal with shielded enemies. This faction pack addresses that problem by providing a faction of ships and stations that are deliberately low-tech.
