Description
Longhorn class 300 Heavy Combat Frigate

[WARNING: THIS SHIP CONTAINS SUB-GRIDS AND SCRIPTS]

After years of collected data on structural design, and combat effectiveness throughout the Longhorn lineage of warships. With the core build of the 288, and the streamlined nature of the 290, the LC-300 sits as the pinnacle of the classes design doctrine.
Representing the backbone of the fleet, the LC-300 can provide a variety of roles. From front line fire support, long distance logistical missions, and peace keeping endeavors.
Carrying the latest technology from Northeast heavy industries, the LC-300 features a MK-VII processing memory core which makes its advanced sub-systems possible
Making its return to NHI ships, the LC-300 carries a PJ-33 Piston Jolt cannon to obliterate enemy vessels from incredible distances.
And for the first time on a NHI ship, as well carries LAMP/WHAM self guided missiles.

Really like your designs, keep up the good work! Would be really cool to see a battleship/capital ship of this fleet you've been working on. I'm not talking about anything massive, just bigger than the rest. It'd be worth the wait. I will agree with @AnneRose.V.G that this ship and some others do seem a little too similar to Halo UNSC ships but otherwise I have no complaints, and that's a pretty minor one at that.

@Dan Sher Thank you for your.. feedback. These are valid criticisms, you definitely could work to phrase them a bit nicer. I certainly will address the typos, and I can try to streamline the control panel and toolbars. Gun placement is a taller order to fill, one I'm not sure I can alter that with how compacted things are without damaging the look.
I'm always looking to improve, so I do appreciate honest feedback and criticism. I have altered ships in the past in response to comments made.
As for the "flat and unpolished" visual design. We all have our styles, and what may be appealing to you may not be to others, and vise-versa. I spent a long time pouring over the design of the exterior to get it as presentable as possible and came up with something that I'm proud of, and matches my style.

Ah I see now. That makes sense.

@Sevyrs I wouldn't say that SE imposes any limitation on ship shapes, but there are some that are simply better in some cases, same could be said for real life, cars have the same general shape with variations, but different shape from tanks.

The shape this ship uses works well for combat ships with heavy front armor, while keeping the thrusters in the rear makes them somewhat hidden.

And that's where we run into issues, this ship is definitely not made for that type of combat, judging from the gun locations, most of which are broadside and for broadside ships a good shape is being somewhat wide and flat, with armored sides.

@KOI And how are you helping in this situation? Ignoring the problems doesn't solve them.
Also the solutions are pretty simple, not enough of something - add more, too much PCU - optimize the design.
Sevyrs 29 May, 2022 @ 9:55am
@AnneRose.V.G Meh, the halo-esk vibe is fine. It is a proven design that can be utilized in a number of ways and it looks good. Besides, there really are only so many designs that can be used when utilizing the SE blocks. Frankly, it would be almost impossible at this point to come up with an original design that doesn't look at least similar to something that has already been used in some other media. Be that movies, other games, comics, concept art, and more.

@Dan Sher Jesus man you sound so pretentious why don't you tone it down a bit and if you've got something to say then at least offer ways to improve rather than just being a total negative Nancy.
Dan Sher 29 May, 2022 @ 8:43am
Looks flat and unpolished
Waste of PCU for the size
Tons of ladders that are annoying to climb
Typos like emergancy and hanger
Strange weapon placements, especially for missile launchers, that make them pretty much useless
Low thrust
For some reason basic assembler and refinery
Cluttered control panel and toolbar config
Only 3 O2/H2 generators
