Description
Sher Industrial Model G13ML
Ion Industrial Barge
Survival & Server Friendly, No Mods
G13ML is a large resource processing barge with ample storage and plenty of landing space on top to park your ships.
While being able to move and jump, most of the time it should probably be converted to station with a safe zone enabled.
Despite its size this ship is quite PCU efficient, costing only 14,363 units when fully welded up, 12,275 with turrets ground down and only 9,571 with turrets, thrusters, jump drives and gyroscopes ground down.

Can not wait for the one that has 4x the refinement!

Ahh yeah should have pointed out the survival server I built it on is all realistic 1x settings. It was actually funny because just as you said I started building the the frame ship before I had even half the materials just because I needed the refineries to process the ore it would take to finish the rest of the ship lol.

I take back what I said last week that the output capabilities would be more than a single player would need, I found a way to make use of this ship before it was even built haha.

I built it on Keen EU #1 in 10 hours, server has default settings, on realistic ones building it should take a bit longer.

Used G493kL to harvest resources and process them while building more refineries and assemblers on this barge, speeding up the construction.

With refinery speed being 3x on the server, this ship is perfect even for one person, if you want to get lots of resources.

A barge with 4x the devices of this one is in the development for playing with realistic settings or lots of people.
Smaller H2 barges are being worked on too.

I finally finished building this in Survival! It took about a week of farming myself, with a pair of mining drones (XU-2's from pro100tv w/ PAM), and an automated drilling/refining rig (using the Automatic Mining Platform script from Kezeslabas) to gather all of the resources for this beast. I built it partially by hand and partially with my UM-3A Builder ship (made by Wildcard). I just wanted to let everyone know that it's possible to build in Survival, even if farming the resources is a sizeable task, and to thank Dan Sher for this incredible blueprint!

I will say for anyone planning to build it without using a ship printer as I did, you might have a tough time finding some of the straight rails used on the underside of staircases but overall this was actually a relatively simple build.

i think this is exactly what i am looking for :)

Great blockwork and vision. I will be using this.

Hopefully my feedback didn't come across the wrong way. I love the design for what it is and wasn't saying this ship needs the things I listed to make it better. They were just QoL additions that I personally like to have on ships or that would fit my personal playstyle. As you said, there's plenty of room for small additions like timer blocks and programmable blocks. But the minimalist functionality is definitely my style!

Really the only thing I'd want is a slightly scaled down version of this same ship because I love the aesthetics and functionality of it so much as they are in this design, but I just don't see myself being able to make use of all the refineries or assemblers in solo survival even if I tried lol

A few models of smaller, H2 powered barges, that can land on planets should definitely be useful.
Making a dedicated H2 processing ship might be useful too.
The reason I decided to not include H2 production on this ship is the PCU cost, it does have one O2/H2 generator and small H2 tank, which should be fine for refueling small-sized small grids.

In terms of timers and programmable blocks, there's plenty of space for them under the landing pads, could be placed near the gyroscopes on the jump drives for example.

In terms of interior more of it definitely would be nice, but for this ship the current amount is fitting accounting for it being a minimalistic barge.
When I get around to making a large grid exploration ship or a trading station, they will have more interior space.

Thanks for the feedback!

Absolutely love the design of this Industrial Barge, but it find myself wanting a slightly smaller version. I love the maxed out Yield and Speed modules, but I don't see myself needing 32 Refineries and 16 Assemblers. I would only need about 1/4-1/2 of the production in Survival because at that point I couldn't gather resources fast enough to even make use all of the refineries. But then I still love the giant landing pad layout and connectors to serve as a mobile base for all of my other small grid and even smaller large grid ships.

But then I get to thinking that I also wouldn't mind having more hydrogen capacity and functionality to be able to refuel all of my smaller hydrogen ships, expanded interior quarters, some room for Programmable Blocks... and it starts becoming a completely different ship, no longer just some minor retrofitting or scaling down on production. Either way, I'm loving your new ships and the design aesthetics and can't wait to see more from this series!
