Description
USS Hornet (CV-8), the seventh U.S. Navy vessel of that name, was a Yorktown-class aircraft carrier of the United States Navy. During World War II in the Pacific Theater, she launched the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo and participated in the Battle of Midway and the Buin-Faisi-Tonolai raid. In the Solomon Islands campaign, she was involved in the capture and defense of Guadalcanal and the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands, where she was irreparably damaged by enemy torpedo and dive bombers. Faced with an approaching Japanese surface force, Hornet was abandoned and later torpedoed and sunk by approaching Japanese destroyers. Hornet was in service for one year and six days, and was the last US fleet carrier ever sunk by enemy fire. For these actions, she was awarded four service stars and a citation for the Doolittle Raid in 1942, and her Torpedo Squadron 8 received a Presidential Unit Citation for extraordinary heroism for its performance at the Battle of Midway.

Because of the limit on aggregate aircraft carrier tonnage included in the Washington Naval Treaty and subsequent London treaties, the United States had intended to build two Yorktown-class aircraft carriers and use the remaining allocated tonnage for a smaller, revised version of the same design, which eventually became Wasp. With war looming in Europe and the repudiation of the naval limitation treaties by Japan and Italy, the Navy's General Board decided to lay down a third carrier of the Yorktown design immediately - followed by the first carrier of the succeeding Essex class (CV-9). When the design was finalized, authorization from Congress came in the Naval Expansion Act of 1938. This aircraft carrier is the re-build of the earlier USS Hornet CV-8 which was done over two years ago.

Features:
* Replicated the majority of the rooms and functions of the Yorktown-Class aircraft carrier to be super detailed from the smaller SE 1:1.
* Functional for combat operations with three active flight elevators and numerous anti-aircraft guns.
* Supplied for survival settings for carrier operations.
* Jakaria's water mod settings at /wbuoyancy 5 and /wdensity 1500 as the best performance for Hornet. (Water 3.0 might cause her to not function as well so other items might be needed.)

For all three helm controls which lead to the remote control.

Tab 1:
1 - Hornet Ship Control (allows you access to helm control of the aircraft carrier.

Remote Control tabs:

1 - Cruise Control (increase thrust override +)
2 - Cruise Control (decrease thrust override -)
3 - Blank
4 - Prow Flight Elevator (reverse)
5 - Centre Flight Elevator (reverse)
6 - Rear Flight Elevator (reverse)
7 - Blank
8 - Carrier FD Flaps (open/closed)
9 - Power to Engines (on/off hydrogen engines / propellers)

Weapon control tabs have rotor and hinge control on lock by default so you have to unlock them before using the control block to mouse aim on targets, the firing weapons are on key tabs of off/on. Main battery weapons on the Yorktown-class 5 inch has the toggle weapon solution, default is inactive so you have to toggle to mouse control to mouse fire.

Note: All of the mods and required DLC are needed to utilise the use of this replica aircraft carrier, the AE Extra engineers mod is optional. AWG CWP, AWG Weapons pack with Takeshi's plane parts are needed mods for this item.
Jakaria's water mod 2.0 wbuoyancy 5 and /wdensity 1500. Water 3.0 will cause instability to this item, has some air vents to pressurise the hull but it will depend on what happens if I could fix Hornet in water 3.0.
Lastly, loading Hornet might take awhile depending on your PC and connection to the server.

There are many rebuilds like this, at this moment of time... I am working on the USS Enterprise CV-6. There are only two of USS Hornet CV-8, 1st one was the older build two years ago and this one.

This is quite simply the most excellent recreation of a naval vessel I have seen on the workshop in my 8 years of playing this game. Congratulations sir, my hat is off to you.
