Do you really need Classical Empires for this?
I was hoping to play AE for a while as CE matures.

This is going in the right direction. I never play with more than 100 units in the largest group. I can't see how city or town battles are possible with these 200 man units. A downside will be that this will fall behind as the land and main units table improve with Classical Empires.
