Description
Spiff's Practical Engineered Solutions, a division of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, presents the Mole Moon Miner, a vanilla small-grid design without mods, and contains no rotors or pistons making it a perfect survival-ready solution for large mining projects. Designed as a high-capacity vertical miner, the Mole Moon Miner extracts ores effortlessly with its 12 optimally-spaced drills, automatically ejecting waste stone, and transports ore in 4 large cargo containers. Power is supplied by 4 large batteries. Utilizing hydrogen thrusters, the Mole Moon Miner operates equally well in space and on planets, but with restricted ore capacity for gravity greater than 0.9g. These features make the Mole Moon Miner a perfect solution for the player who needs to get to an ore deposit, quickly extract a large quantity of ore, and get back home again.

An AutoLevel script is used when in a planet's or moon's gravity well: AutoLevel by Dixie Normus

NO MODS, NO ROTORS/PISTONS; SURVIVAL READY AND PROJECTOR BUILDABLE!

NOTE: Ingame scripts (in advanced settings) must be enabled for the AutoLevel script to function!

NOTES FOR BUILDING WITH A PROJECTOR IN SURVIVAL
1. Build a rotor frame on a powered grid; remove the large-grid rotor head and replace with a small-grid rotor head and lock rotation.
2. Stack 5 armor blocks, minimum, vertically atop the small-grid rotor head to provide sufficient clearance for building the miner.
3. Build a small-grid projector on top of the topmost armor block; for consistency, rename the projector to be "MM - Projector".
4. Load the blueprint into the projector; click on the setting to retain the blueprint after construction is complete.
5. Build the blueprint.
6. When completed, grind away the small-grid rotor head, armor blocks, and rotor frame, leaving the projector in place for future repairs.

Sorry for the delay answering your questions. The Path Auto Miner (PAM) script is for using the ship as a mining drone, if you want. Here's a link to how the PAM script operates:

I had problems yesterday getting some of my subscribed scripts to show up in the programmable block, so I figured it was a Steam problem. Maybe they work better today. I'll have to check. Maybe that was your problem.

yea I built it and the cockpit was perfect. What is the PAM program block for? is there a script that goes in it? also I'm having a bit of trouble with getting the auto level script to actually load in. any tips?

Weird. All the hotbar settings should be set. Perhaps it's trashed because you're playing MP. I know MP can jumble blueprints. Four large batteries are used for power.

If you're on a planet, however, I recommend the Mole Planetary Miner; it's much more efficient.

and the hotbar settings are not all set up... I'm so new I have no idea what i'm doing...
Nyarlathotehp 19 May, 2022 @ 10:42pm
I'm also not seeing how the ship is supposed to generate power...

thank you for the reply, I'm on a planet so I'm hoping I can still use it. I got permission to use the auto level script. What is the PAM programmable block for?
Spaceman Spiff  [author] 19 May, 2022 @ 10:26am
The auto-level script isn't absolutely necessary. The moon's gravity is so low that a bit of gravitational misalignment won't matter. You shouldn't have any problem with it.
Nyarlathotehp 19 May, 2022 @ 9:43am
do you have to have the script to fly it? I'm on a server that doesn't allow scripts
Spaceman Spiff  [author] 11 May, 2022 @ 10:48am
Thanks. I've found using rotors, hinges, and/or pistons in a planet's gravity well to be unstable, and I avoid them. I also like to stick with vanilla designs (as much as possible, anyway) for forward compatibility and to reach the largest population of Space Engineers. My designs are usually not very pretty, but they will function as advertised. All this defines my design philosophy.

Man, that was a clever one!

And, especially by relying on script much more than "rotating" parts, it became greatly cheap (for survival purposes).

Nice!
