[WOTC] Failsafe Hacking PCS

Opis
What is this?
A really small simple mod to add a Hacking PCS into the game.
These are a bit rare but do show up in PCS Loot Drops and the Black Market.

As well as giving a boost to the users hacking score, they also come pre-loaded with my own version of Failsafe, which allows you to negate the drawback effects of a failed hack.

I'm honestly surprised the only "Hacking PCS" mod I could find on the workshop was an old vanilla one ...

Config Options?
  • Costs for sale, default values: 15, 20, 25
  • Loot Tables
  • Boost Values, default ranges: 20-25, 25-35, 35-45
  • If the PCS gives Failsafe, and associated usage costs of the perk.
Default is set to the values in Proficiency Class Pack: 1AP, 1Turn Cooldown BUT 22 Hack Score Boost.
  • You can choose if this mods Failsafe takes priority over LW or PCP Failsafe.
You may feel these the default values are off, but the rarity of these and the choice to use one over another PCS needs to be justified. I wanted a specialist with a Hack PCS to basically not fail hacks!

Compatibility
It's technically a new item so it should work with everything.
However I did use 'standard' PCS naming conventions which means it may or may not work with LWotC and/or LW2 Classes and Perks. I don't play with either of those, so didn't test it.

The PCS can be used by anyone that can use PCS' (PCSes ? Always confused on that).

Works with my Coloured PCS Icons
Includes RetroFit projects for Proving Ground Overhaul v2

Known Issues
The PCS stat boost table is linked to the CovertAction stat boost reward. It is highly possible it is the level 4 boost used. This mod adjusts that value and inadvertently causes an issue where the CA reward is insanely strong. I will aim to fix this when I have time. Feel free to adjust the config for stat gains of your preference.
Hopefully this issue is now resolved and the PCS hack values should no longer override/interfere with Covert Actions values.

Other FAQ
Can you make a PCS for <insert: stat, ability, hopes, dreams>?
.... Yes, but unlikely to happen

Can you make a Psi Specific PCS? That works with classes that are not a PsiOperative ?
.... Yes, but see Cut-Content Psionics and/or Psionics Ex Machina

Vanilla version ?
.... Yes, umm ... see here ...

LWotC version ? RPGO version ?
.... like are you even thinking at this point :)

Credits and Thanks
Many Thanks to ShireMct and Pavonis for the Failsafe perk base line.
Created at the request of FleetAdmiralJ on ChristopherOdds Discord, a HUGE amount of admiration for his OddCom database [odd.gg]
Many thanks to Mae for bringing to light a compatibility issue with PCP

As always I appreciate the support of the XCOM2 Modders and MEME Modders discords.

I'm about to give this interesting mod a try. Is there a way to just keep the hacking stat bonus and not have the failsafe mechanism?

Are the Hacking PCSes affected by the Integrated Warfare bonus?

Oh quick question: how come the power level 4 PCS has MinBoost=35 but the MaxBoost=10? Shouldn't the max be higher than the min?

Just a minor thing, but the description says the ranges for the Superior PCS are 35-45 but it's actually 35-40 in the config. Great mod btw!

Failsafe is a perk which allows you to negate the drawback effects of a failed hack.

I'm sorry but what *is* failsafe?
