Description
The legendary bounty hunter Samus Aran is finally here

Full character gimmick documentation:

jab
the third hit shares the same counter property as up tilt and fair (see those attacks for more info)

dattack
an initial burst with a shoulder bash that can lead into a continuous run if you keep the attack button pressed, if you unpress it or press down the dash attack will stop, if you have stopped it by pressing down you'll get a temporary glowing aura that lasts 10 seconds (see uspecial), the afterimages all have a hitbox, the sudden burst sends away while the run tries to make you bounce on the afterimage

utilt
regular up tilt that has a counter mechanic, it has a super armor for 5 frames, if you get hit in any way while having the armor then the opponent gets countered (it works by spawning an extra hitbox on top of the opponent)

dtilt
regular slide, can be jump canceled to combo into aerials anytime

fair
it's supposed to be the same attack as up tilt but in the air so it shares the same properties (including the armor)

bair
consumes 3 missiles on use, one for each burst, each burst retains the property of missiles (see taunt)

nair
if you have a charge shot ready the attack will have an overall damage boost and the final hit will have high knockback but the charge will be depleted even on whiff

taunt
this is where the hard part begins, taunt opens a hud menu that you can navigate with left and right, it has 6 power ups that can be toggled by pressing attack, each does a different thing and they are stackable, they are divided in 3 sets, if you activate 1 power up of a set the whole set will go on cooldown, the power ups last around 12 seconds iirc with a cooldown after it expires
a second version of the menu can be activated with a button on the character select screen
these are the power up effects:

set 1
wide beam: triples the amount of projectiles shot with nspecial
increases the size and damage by 1 for attacks that involve the diffusion beam (fstrong, ustrong, dair)

plasma beam: passes through enemies, increases damage a little, applies a plasma stun effect at the cost of being less spammable,
gives plasma stun and increases damage by 1 for attacks that use the diffusion beam (fstrong, ustrong, dair)

wave beam: passes through solid objects, increases damage a little and gives transcended properties to the beam
adds extra hitpause and increases damage by 1 for attacks that use the diffusion beam (fstrong, ustrong, dair)

set 2
super missiles: increases the power of regular missiles and the power of back air
ice missiles: overrides supers, gives the missiles an ice property, if you hit an enemy 3 times it gets temporairly frozen, applies the freeze property to bair as well

set 3
flash shift: improves dodges by a landslide, gives you almost full dodge invincibility, increases distance and lets you do up to 3 airdodges, the yellow bar on the bottom of the hud is the aeion bar, once the flash shift is active it will start to deplete, it will deplete faster the more you use the flash shift, once it has run out you'll need to wait to use it again

the 3 colored dots on the top of the hud are the cooldowns of each set, when they are lit it means the set is ready to use, when they are dim the set is being used, when they turn off the set has gone on cooldown

the two counters on the side indicate how many missiles and power bombs you have, these resources get depleted by certain attacks, you will recover a set amount when you lose a stock

nspecial
fires a beam shot, can be held down for charge, there are no intermediate steps, only full charge and no charge, the charge can be stored by pressing shield or jumping, the base beam is higly spammable and has no knockback, the stored charge doesn't get reset if you toggle a beam upgrade in the taunt menu.
You can press down once a full charge is ready to perform a bomb spread, you'll turn into morph ball and spread 5 bombs at the cost of your charge

fspecial
fires a missile that consumes ammo

uspecial
can only be used once in the air and does not get reset by wall jumping, travels a nice distance overall but stops at walls, can be angled in 8 directions, if you have the glowing aura active while doing uspecial (see dattack) it will gain some properties, it will get stronger (kill move kind of strong), travel further and have super armor for the whole duration

dspecial
morph into a ball with the m o r p h b a l l, samus in this state can move around, jump at a set height or use 3 attacks
bombs:
samus places down a bomb by pressing the attack button, when in the explosion radius of a bomb you'll get propelled the direction opposite to that of the center of the explosion(there's a height cap to for this), this also applies for cross bombs (see dstrong) which only send up, down or on the side based on which of the 4 explosion lines you are following, with good enough timing you can bomb jump around.
if you morph while having a charge shot ready you will perform a bomb spread like the one done by canceling nspecial by pressing down, it will consume the charge but will release 5 bombs around samus
cross bomb:
By pressing strong you will deploy a cross bomb like the one left by dsmash, this one has no launcher to balance it's spammability
power bomb:
by keeping the attack button pressed a glowing aura will envelop samus while in morph ball, once ready release the attack button to unleash a devastating explsion that covers a good portion of the screen, racks up 23% with a launcher at the end, consumes 1 unit of power bomb ammo on use and has a long cooldown (indicated by the power bomb icon which gets dim on cooldown)
unmorph by pressing dspecial again

taunt + up
the regular taunt

I think the taunt menu would be *way* more intuitive if it exited once you selected your powerup. Like with Shovel Knight

the last color swap idk whaqt it is the one after the red emmi um it crashes the game

the bombs are too overpowered i was able to just spam and never get hit because the ball hurtbox is so small. The way to fix this is honestly just make it so she can only use 3 bombs at a time and there that should fix the problem. if you could fix that this would be 6/5 stars, other than that great character so much effort was put into this and it just looks fabulous!

@WatcherCCG she has about 200 sprites, many sounds, recently there's been a rivals patch that broke memory allocation and causes heavier characters to lead to crashes and whatnot, I hope it gets fixed soon

Just how many assets are in this thing? Totally lags out the game client trying to load her in the test room. Probably some fault on my end, I know, but maybe someone out there has advice on how to resolve it.
