I am currently working on a third mission featuring some randomization to keep things interesting. Due to the nature of how the mission editor saves files, you likely won't see any of the above mentioned changes until this new mission is complete (or I decide to scrap it cause it doesn't work out). Since uploading the changes now would also release the unfinished mission.
-Any poor fool who chooses or gets stuck with the helicopter pretty much always has a bad time. The islands are quite far for a helicopter to get to and by the time it can get to any of them, the jets will have long since cleared everything. I would personally suggest swapping the helicopter for another T-55 or maybe 1 or 2 AV-42s.
I really like this campaign (mostly the first mission), easily one of my favourites. I appreciate the work put into this as well as the addition of the T-55s for those who want them. Overall, a really fun experience that really puts a team's skills to the test.
-Last couple times I played, the KC-49 (refuel jet) keeps flying south straight into fighters and hostile AA on the southern island. And even if I do manage to save it, it has a very odd patrol route where it starts to circle around the centre island like in previous versions before breaking off to the northeast island, and then turns west all the way to Thasos and then back south again. Hope this info helps.
-Activating the first waypoint objective to regroup is sort of annoying to trigger because it requires you to get within ~1 nautical mile of it. It would be nice, if possible, if the activation range were increased even just to about 3-5 nautical miles simply because to clear the islands, that objective needs to be completed no matter what.
Some observations I would like to share;
-After successfully clearing the islands there were 4 of us left in the lobby and the last objective to RTB on the carrier wouldn't complete despite all of us landing on the carrier. Not a huge deal, just a bit annoying.
-I agree with Bismarck in that the easy mode is more lenient than it needs to be. I think 5 lives per vehicle at most would be appropriate.
-As suggested below, being able to restock vehicle lives for each island liberated would be a great addition in my opinion to both the normal mode and the easy mode.
Part 1 because Steam hates essays
I would say 10 for each aircraft is a bit overkill. 5 or less should be okay.
another idea would be that each aircraft gets +1 life per liberated island.
also: with 10 lives perhaps reinforcements from off screen would be good to balance it out a little.
the way the map is right now works great with max 5 lives each. and thats a lot... should probably go down to 3, or like said, +1 life for each aircraft per liberated base.
cause frankly with 10 lives. you can theoretically just rush the middle base with guns only and still win
it was really fun tho. still awesome campaign.
