Cessna 172 Skyhawk

Description
Cessna 172 Skyhawk

The Cessna 172 is an American single-engine aircraft made by the Cessna Aircraft company first flown in 1955. The Cessna 172 is the most built aircraft in the world with more than 44,000 units produced and is the most successful aircraft in history.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Fuel: 580 l
Range: ≈300 km
Speed: 138 ktas
Weight: 935 mass
Cost: $36397

STARTUP:

If it is dark outside press [1] to activate the interior light before startup

- If you are using HOTAS select the pilot seat and change u/d to reset

- Main electric > on
- Avionics > on
- NAV Lights > on
- Throttle > 0%

TAXI AND TAKEOFF:

- Brakes > off [2]
- Throttle >≈ 50%
- L/R to yaw
- Taxi to runway

NOTE: The Cessna requires ≈350 m of runway to take off

- Flaps > on [3]
- Throttle > 100%
- Pitch up at ≈60 kt
- Flaps > off [3]

LANDING:

The stall speed is ≈90 kt so land at ≈100 kt. Enable the brakes before of directly after landing and don't slam the aircraft down on the runway because it lacks suspension and can take damage.

FEATURES:

G1000 NXi Glass cockpit
The glass cockpit is based on the G1000 NXi and includes an artificial horizon that includes: climb/decent rate, Speed (in kt), Altitude (in ft), Heading and a velocity vector. It also includes an altitude based dynamic map that displays the autopilots path to the waypoint. Press [e] on the map to show the waypoint location.

Autopilot and Altitude Hold
Use the large keypad above the co-pilot to input coordinates for the Autopilot which can be activated by pressing [4]. It is recommended to use the autopilot together with the altitude hold and that is activated by [5]. The aircraft will then hold the current altitude until you either deactivate it or input a new setpoint altitude using the keypad in the middle.

Stall warner / Brake indicator
If you are stalling a buzzer will sound and a red light will start flashing in the cockpit. The light will be yellow if the brake is activated.

Automatic heater
Self explanitory.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

(WARNING shameless plug) i've worked on this creation for quite some time and so i would appreciate if you pressed the 👍 button or even the favourite button as it helps with the workshop algorithm :)

Hey guys the plane works again!
Skidmark Sigma 2 Dec, 2022 @ 10:27pm
For some reason the plane randomly goes right uncontrollably when taking off, as well as taxiing is just way too difficult.

Amazing design and performance! For those having issues taking off just make sure to have the throttle all the way up and make sure to have flaps on. Overall this is one of my favorite planes on here:steamthumbsup:

@Leo Salmon, most aircraft in real life require some takeoff distance, so does this one. I have spent a lot of time testing it and can confirm that it can sometimes be a bit tricky but still completely manageable.

Dude, Can you actually test your vehicles before submitting them to the workshop. Sure this plane looks nice but is it easy to take off at all? No. it glitches out when you go down the runway and you can't even use it.
