Description
Sim City 2013 Tram Depot
This is a faithful recreation of the Sim City 2013 Streetcar (Tram) Depot. I have wanted a new Tram Depot for some time now as I have many gripes with the base game one. I really liked the look of the Tram Depot from Sim City 2013 so I thought I would bring it to Cities Skylines.

This was a bigger model then I had ever commissioned from DSBSubhrajyoti before and he did an awesome job in recreating it. I had to learn a bunch about vehicle pathing and spawn points to make this one work but after a few days of tinkering with it, it's finally ready for release. I'm super happy with how this one come out and I can't wait to use it in game myself.

It operates in game as a standard Tram Depot. It spawns in trams once you have attached it to a tram road/avenue and have an active tram line/route. I have made the stats about half of the default base game Tram Depot. It's cheaper to maintain due to it having less garages then the default Tram Depot and causes less noise pollution. These are just a couple of gripes I have with the base game depot, that and it's fairly ugly. This one is built more for early game inner city public transportation and will allow you to actually profit from your early game tram lines. It has a sleek modern design which will make it feel at home in any built up area of your city.

@admiral8q Thanks for that man. I will probably put a note in the description somewhere but at least it appears to definitely be working for other people and isn't just working for me. I'll have to try to figure out what is causing it to break. There is probably a reason there isn't many Tram depots in the workshop, this was definitely one of our harder modding projects.

Works perfect for me!

Tested it in my city that has lots of trams. 4 Tram lines with about 80-90 trams total. Smashed the old tram station and put this one in. Spawned fine.

But yes, that 'broken road connection' icon did did keep popping up for a bit. It seemed every time a tram was spawning. However after most of the 80ish trams were spawned, it stopped doing that. I increased the vehicle count on one tram line to test it and the icon didn't pop up any more.

@[OG]CombatMedic02 I suggest putting that into your description.
Oh yeah definitely liking this asset. Thank you, and DSBSubhrajyoti for making it! :)

@admiral8q Thanks, it's appreciated. If you find anything replicatable let me know and I'll try my best to fix it.

@Tina Apologies Tina, I'm not sure why it isn't working for you. This is my first transport mod and there are lots of extra variables compared to regular service buildings. It's working for me, even when I have multiple depots so I'm not sure why it isn't working for you. Did you have a tram route on the track that you attached it to? I find I sometimes get that error until I have an active tram route on that road then everything kind of just kicks in.

@Tina
What if you replaced the original tram depot? Maybe it will work then?
I'll do some testing myself...

So after flattening the land and trying different kinds of tram networks I still cant seem to get it to connect. Its the 2nd tram depot on the map. The first is on one island with a tram network and then this depot on the 2nd island with its own network. Perhaps it thinks the first network is the one to connect to? Oddly if I add a 3rd depot and connect it to this depot the error clears. But on deletion of the 3rd depot the icon comes back. So sadly I cant seem to use this depot on this particular city which is a shame as its a good looking depot.

I'll give this tram depot a try. If nothing else, the vanilla one certainly is 'butt-ugly' lol!

That's strange, I have noticed that this error comes up for a moment occasionally when I first place it but then it sorts itself out after it figures out there is a route set up. Maybe the ground needs to be flat? But it should flatten the terrain on placement.

Seem to have an issue connecting the tracks. Have subbed to the invisible track. When plopping the building and connecting it to the tram roads it displays the red disconnected icon. Cant seem to get it to 'connect' to any tram network. Am I missing something?
