Description
Replaces the G3 with the M110a1 SDMR.

Manufactured by Heckler & Koch as part of the HK417 platform, the M110a1 was selected by U.S. Army to began replacing the M110 SASS and MK14 EBR service rifles in 2018. The 7.62×51mm NATO chambered rifle in its SDMR configuration includes an HK417 E2 buttstock, SIG TANGO6T 1-6x24 mm scope, Harris Bipod, Geissele adjustable two-stage trigger, Geissele 14.5" HK417 DDC handguard, OSS HX QD 762 Suppressor, and Troy 45 Degree Folding Battle Sights.

This add-on includes an icon. It does not include firing sounds as those are packaged separately Here for modularity.
This add-on is a modification of Қatka ♥'s Insurgency add-on: HK417A2 & M110A1 (for FAL & L1A1) - ISMC. The HK417 E2 buttstock is from 8sianDude's H&K HK417 "hybrid" DMR (Military Sniper). The modified scope lense material is from Lt. Rocky's Insurgency MK20 Mod 0 DMR - Military Sniper.

@Oni Lion The difference with the xm8 being that the m110a1 has in fact already been adopted and begun distribution (something the xm8 never managed as it didn't even reach large-scale field testing).
To your point of not replacing the m110; thus far, most m110a1 rifles delivered have been in marksman configuration rather than sniper. That paired with the SASS product improvement program does seem to suggest that both rifles will fill the two different roles concurrently going forward.

Death Angel I did leave out the part where the XM8 was intended to replace the M4A1.

@Death Angel they've been trying to replace the M110 for almost 10 years now and I doubt the M417 will replace the M110. Cause like I said, both weapons behave very similarly with small differences. That's what the US Military tried with the XM8 platform but the XM8 had very minor improvements.

@Oni Lion You are correct that this is not the M110 SASS. However, the M110 SASS is currently being replaced by the HK417 variant designated the M110A1 as noted in the description. That rifle is what this add-on contains.

This is not an M110A1 SASS. This is a Heckler & Koch M417/M28 the weapon that the SASS beat in the US Military's Semi-Automatic Sniper System program competition. All be it, both weapons function identically the same.

I was also feeling something along those lines. Made some changes to those ends.
