Description
So what is "Water Ice" you ask? It's creamier than shaved ice yet icier than Italian ice. And just three ingredients are needed to make the classic recipe: water, sugar, and fruit.

About Dattilos Water Ice

This Datillos Water Ice asset is inspired by a location in the Rhawnhurst section of North Philadelphia. The awnings, menu boards and the signage above them are faithful to the look of the takeout window area from the early 2010s.

The asset will fit in well on your main street corridor, beach town or even nightclub district for an American city.

About the Building Asset

I have not made this asset colorable. I also oriented the takeout windows to be on the left side of the building rather than the front of the building. So use this asset as a left corner or adjacent to a parking lot. I have used the special feature of Mod Tools to zone the asset as a left corner.

If the building is not your style or preferred brick color you can still subscribe to get the sign/awning props and to detail your own buildings.

Background on Little Italy collection

This water ice shop is a part of my Little Italy collection. The collection focuses on independent Italian American businesses with appealing vintage signage that have endured for decades in places like NYC, Philly, Detroit, St Louis, SF, etc.. Expect to see pasta shops, cheese shops, cafes, bakeries, butchers and much more.

@djnellz215913ko - I don't see myself ever doing Geno's or Pat's. I believe they would be too much effort. At some point I may tackle Jim's Roast Pork because I like that large sign with the cartoon pig on it. But I have many items higher in the queue so we are probably talking months from now before I may take that on...

Are there any other businesses you like from 9th St Italian Market? I have had thoughts about Tallutos, Cannuli Bros or one of the produce stores. I don't necessarily pick "the best" places. I pick good ones with distinctive signage or buildings that can be built with moderate effort. I've burned myself out on asset creation a few times. Usually UV wrapping complex buildings is what does me in as that part of this hobby is by far the most tedious. At first glance Melrose Diner seems like one where I'd potentially get burnt out UV wrapping because of all the curves. So I think I will pass on that one but I appreciate the input...

Any chance of doing the greatest Italian diner known to man Melrose Diner in South Philly or the nasty tourist traps known as Pat's and Geno's?

They have great water ice. Compared to Rita's, it's pretty damn good, just not Rita's good.

Great asset! Need more Philly and Italian Philly assets on the workshop!
