Description
Classic Laws: CK2 Laws & More

My obsession with bringing back CK2 into CK3 continues. This mod somewhat restores the law framework from CK2, where Crown Authority was split into several different laws, such as Title Revocation Law, Vassal War Declaration Law, etc.

Crown Authority still exists, as removing it altogether would affect too many things like Factions. Instead you need to have the relevant Crown Authority level to then manually enact the other laws. i.e. You need to pass Limited Crown Authority to then be able to pass the first Title Revocation Law.This does make the game slightly harder, but some of us are masochists, haha.

This mod is in active development, so there are a few placeholder laws that I want to add later, which are mostly additional to the ones from CK2 and are tailored for CK3 specifically. These are Religious policy, Cultural policy, Military Organization , and Administration. Combined with the existing laws, these will be able to make you really feel like your realm is modernizing, so that by the end of the game you have a strong centralized state which feels ready for the coming Renassiance. Of course, it's much easier to modernize a small kingdom than a huge map-spanning empire, so take that into consideration!

Also since I have been using all my free time to actually MAKE the mod, I haven't been able to test it thoroughly. If you have any issues or suggestions please let me know in the comments.

Vanilla files modified for this mod are:
-gui/window_my_realm.gui
-common/laws/00_realm_laws.txt
-council_tasks/00_court_chaplain_tasks.txt
-council_tasks/00_steward_tasks.txt
So the mod won't be compatible with other mods that change these.

Also overwrites some scripted triggers from vanilla.

03/28/22 :
-Fixed Laws requiring a specific Crown Authority to be enacted rather than requiring a Specific Crown Authority or higher.
-Laws now have their own 5-year cooldown separate from Crown Authority.

03/31/22:
-Added Military Organization Reforms
-Changed the names of Realm Centralization Reforms to be more immersive.
-Realm Centralization Reforms don't provide as big of a bonus anymore, but now they also add development growth.

04/03/22:
-Added Chinese translation, thanks to kennyS
-Cleaned up tooltips

11/18/22:
-Updated to current CK3 version.

01/21/23:
-Updated to current CK3 version.
-Improved Compatibility with Mods like Elder Kings of Fallen Eagle which add new governments, though some oddities might remain.

02/11/23
-Having certain laws will make your Vassals get negative opinion modifiers towards you.
-It was previously not possible to see which laws your liege (or other rulers) had active, now it will be reflected in their modifiers in the Character Interface.
-Now you can enact Internal Wars and External Wars separately, or enact All Wars Banned with higher requirements.

02/15/23
-Made some laws less harsh opinion-wise.
-If you don't have the required authority or centralization for certain laws, they will be removed and replaced with lower laws.
-Some internal code things (special triggers) that will make it more easier to make compatches with mods that don't use Crown Authority.

03/09/23
-Removed the Modifiers. Will attempt UI Modding (pray for me) to make characters' laws more visible.
-Added Culture and Religion Laws, which govern wether you or your direct vassals can actively convert provinces to your culture or religion. Currently the AI will not forbid it.
-Overhauled some Laws:
--Centralization is now Domain Centralization, bigger bonuses and penalties to domain limit and vassal limit.
--Military Organization is now Domain Militia, bigger bonuses and penalties to MAA caps, costs, and levy size.
--Added Domain Economy, with big bonuses and penalties to develeopment growth, control growth, and domain tax income.
--All of these now have six levels, with three leaning towards one axis (vassal limit, taxes, levies) and the other three leaning towards the other axis (domain limit, dev/control, MAA)

-UniUI compatible (I think).

To do:
-New Innovations Maybe
-Some Sort of Voting System (that's gonna be a pain)
-Will attempt UI Modding (pray for me) to make characters' laws more visible.
-Compatibility with big mods (Elder Kings, Fallen Eagle, etc.)
-Add more laws (republican/imperial administration, etc)
-Other Language Translations.

Some of these laws are absolutely ridiculous that they don't default to the/a center option. Development/Taxes gives a 60% debuff to control growth and development gain for all feudal characters at the start of any game. What the fuck? This mod is a really cool idea but damn it needs some tweaking. Even if the cooldown was shortened to like 1 year that'd help a ton.
