About Tony's Luke's Cheesesteaks

Most locals in Philly have a favorite place to get a cheesesteak. Tony Luke's has been part of that conversation since opening under the I-95 overpass in 1992. Whether its your favorite or not it is an iconic brand associated with Philly as its been featured on countless TV shows. You can get a Tony Luke's cheesesteak at the arena, baseball stadium and even the PHL international airport.

This building is not a 100% replica of one specific location. Rather it takes inspiration from several locations including South Philly, Wildwood NJ and Ocean City MD. This asset will fit in nicely on the edge of your light industrial area, the fringe of your Main Street corridor or in a beach town near the boardwalk.

About the Building Asset

I have not made this asset colorable. The red and white paint scheme is integral to the branding of Tony Luke's. I did try to make the paint and roof seem a little stained as these joints are never crisp and clean.

Roof props are from Rony69's JPPO collection and linked to in the Required Items. These are bigger roof props. But these greasy cheesesteak places have major venting. More than I could represent with the vanilla props.

Background on Little Italy collection

This cheesesteak shop is a blue collar restaurant my for my Little Italy collection. The collection focuses on independent Italian American businesses with appealing vintage signage that have endured for decades in places like NYC, Philly, Detroit, St Louis, SF, etc.. Expect to see pasta shops, cheese shops, cafes, bakeries, butchers and much more.

@djnellz215913ko - thanks. I choose Tony Luke's for the asset over the other Philly staples because it struck a nice balance between iconic look/signage yet not overly difficult to model. The Red/White checkboard adds a lot of visual interest without much effort on my part. Pat and Genos with all the neon craziness would be too much to tackle. While places like Jim's South St or Dalessandro's it felt like the building/signage was a little too basic to be impactful.

they make a great cheesesteak. Not as good as Dalessandro's, but a damn good steak. Love it. Subscribed.
