Tactical State Cleaner

Beskrivning
Removes units generated in the tactical space when they're no longer needed, according to a whitelist in the mod's XComGame.ini. Checks for units that should be removed when you finish missions and when you load a saved game on the strategy layer.

This *shouldn't* be targeting anything actually important but for obvious reasons be prepared for the possibility that this deletes something a mod needs later.

If you're wondering why someone would use this, when I tested it out myself it removed approximately 1500~ unitstates and 2200~ item states from a campaign that had reached February 1 2036 and came with a noticeable improvement in performance in areas like when the game had to package gamestates for strategy -> tactical transfers and what not.

Interesting. Does that mean my results were completely placebo then? Installing this doesn't do anything if you already have LWOTC? I ask because I now have a game-breaking crash - trying to do the Chosen Avenger defense, and the game crashes every time I try to start the mission. My latest save from on the Avenger before the mission pops up is 10.8MB, which the game also cannot load. I'm trying to figure out how to reduce the save size. I can load my saves from the last mission before this point, those saves are 7MB, but otherwise I am stuck.

which is kind of funny as LWotC has this built-in//integrated ....

Playing LWOTC with 70-80 mods. Was getting huge slow downs and crashing as my playthrough went on. Installed this, instantly fixed things. I was surprised by how much faster the game suddenly was, the slow down over time had crept up on me.

I'll give it a shot, but I had the LWOTC cleaner disabled and this unsubscribed, and something was still erasing them
Maybe they had already been erased and displaying in the barracks/with the print command was a fluke? Who knows
Thanks for the advice

My guess is LWotC messing with things is your issue. You should look in the LWotC configs for the [ShouldCleanupObsoleteUnits] setting and turn it to false. Which will allow THIS version to take over .. and I'm 99%certain this version does not erase MOCX units as I've seen it in use with the MOCX barracks (using the UFOPedia & Bestiary & MOCX Plugin to directly view the MOCX crew)

Both versions still do. Oddly enough, it's still doing it even when I've turned the whole thing off in the config. So I don't know if it's something else or what
Some people say Mod Jam messes with the cleaner, but I can't find anything referencing it anywhere in the configs

it shouldn't do. There was an exclusion put in specifically for MOCX units.. especially as both of these were made by the same author ...

The LWotC built-in version of this had an issue where it would remove MOCX units, but I'm 99% certain that has also been patched/fixed from LWotC 1.1 onwards ..

This erases MOCX units.

@diringed
That's right.

Just to clarify: all you need to do is subscribe to the mod, leave it activated in AML and that's it? That's what I did for the last couple of hours, but it didn't have any (visible) effect. So I was wondering if maybe I was missing something? Thanks.
