Reduced Default HUD

Description
Gain more screen space.

The default HUD felt a bit oversized, so I kept its original layout, scaled it down slightly, and made a few adjustments. Optimized for 1920x1080 and higher resolutions.

To change the ping icon, try minimizing the game, may not work in borderless mode. Works only with survivor panels, not custom health bars.

Variants

Improvements
  • Reduced and improved original hud elements.
  • Repositioned and resized survivor panels for better appearance.
  • Partially fixed AK-47 icon conflicting with ammo on the weapon panel.
  • Reduced progress bar and adjusted subtext.
  • Smaller level transition with semi-transparent borders.
  • Adjusted vote and ping textures to match health bar colors.
  • Fine-tuned hud animations for survival timer and weapon panel.
  • Support for some custom crosshairs, see this collection for supported crosshairs.

Known bugs
  • In split screen, survivor panels eventually vanish because of custom crosshairs. Sadly, I had to pick one to make it work, it's a bug I know about but can't fix for now.

After some trial and error with the keys inside the file, I've come to the conclusion that it's an issue tied to the texture itself, so I'll have to make a custom one to achieve my goal.
That said, I'll stop posting any more comments to avoid filling the comment section too much.
Thanks, Qude, for your time and, especially, your patience. :boomer:

if the box’s thickness or look is the issue, it’s a material thing, you’ll have to import your custom design as a VTF file.

take a look at the materials folder in existing huds for reference.

I'm afraid I expressed myself wrong. In fact, I wasn't talking about changing the color of the text of the ammo counter or the color of the weapons' icons, but rather the thickness of the box frame itself, which contains both things.
Sorry about the late reply, and thanks again.

you'll see an RGBA color code, like [255 255 255 0], where the last number represents the opacity

Do you remember, perchance, the name of the key inside the file that has to be edited?
It's alright if you don't. You've been of great help.

hey, hard to explain in text, but you probably need to mess with the weapon panel in hudlayout.res

Hello Qude, I'd like to restore the old item selection color as shown in the image that you linked in the add-on's change notes, but I don't know how. Therefore, could you, please, guide me on which files I need to edit?
Thanks in advance.

I like the addon

Seems like it bugs out the vanilla hud whenever I play VS, Health bars become stretched and overlap with items along with other issues
