Matt's King of Tokyo (Scripted)

Description
Scripted King of Tokyo. (Hobby/project) *Last updated 7/5/2024*
This is a complete and functional scripted version of the game, which includes all official and unofficial KoT content that I could get my hands on as of 2024.

Features:
• Includes Darkmode which adds an optional Wickedness Tracker. Rules in Notebook.

• The Tokyo Board has alternate states; One for Default, Darkmode, and Textless.

• King of Tokyo sold a bunch of Regional Promo Monsters which look like cool new monsters, but they didn't come with Evolution Decks!... I scoured the internet and found Community-Created Evolution Decks for a bunch of these Monsters, bringing this table's total from 21, to 51 unique playable Monsters, and counting!

• Many of the "Blue-outlined" Monsters Evolution Decks do not have art for the cards, but you can still read the effects by holding your mouse over the card on its own.

• Custom player boards to play your cards on, with number counters and graphics to reflect individual HP, VP, and Energy.

• Hover your mouse over all Monster Tokens to see a strategic breakdown of their Evolution strategy, to help categorize character's play-style into archetypes.

• Scripted Purchase and Restock buttons for the Power Up! shop.

• Scripted area to roll dice in 2 ways. Drag the dice to the Rolling Strip, or click the Strip to roll all dice in the Roll Zone. This also prints how many dice were rolled in chat, to help everyone keep track of the current turn.

• Token assets for all status-effects in the game.

• Quick and easy clickable Character Selection System, handles placing/swapping all game pieces.

Known Bugs with Monster Selector:
Bug: If you have to rewind time or reload the table from a save, the Monster Selector sometimes refuses to put items away correctly.
Fix: Try to play the entire game without reloading the table, and play each new game from a freshly loaded table. This will only cause issues while selecting Monsters during consecutive games without reloading, or if a player tries to swap Monsters mid-game.

Bug: Some Monsters have alternate Art for their Token and Board; this is accomplished by using Objects with multiple States. If you try to swap Monsters while using one of the Alternate-State game-pieces, it will not recall that game-piece and that Monster becomes unselectable.
Fix: Before swapping Monsters be sure to return all of your game pieces to their First-State by hovering over it and pressing "1". If this bug does happen, simply place the object that wasn't recalled back in the Monster's Envelope then Save/Load the game, then the Selector should fix itself.

• Check out my Homebrew Expansion: Ultimate Monsters!
Includes alternate Monster Boards for 6 classic Monsters. These Boards give Monsters access to four-tiers of unique repeatable abilities which expand on their Evolution strategy, providing alternate semi-consistent ways to spend your dice each turn.

Thank you! Now that I've seen it, this really is the best implementation of King of Tokyo!

Yes, much appreciated!:steamhappy:

Thank you so much! It's a great surprise to see it restored so quickly!

I was inspired by your comments to restore this Table to its former glory and just updated the Mod! All missing textures should be restored and properly uploaded to the workshop this time, so this shouldn't happen again!

Thank you for supporting this project! In my files I found a homebrew expansion for KoT that I never fully implemented into this table until now. There are 6 Monsters marked with "Red" outlines, these Monsters have alternate Ultimate Monster Boards you can choose to play with. Rules are in the notebook.

There are 3 Monsters marked with "Blue" outlines, these Monsters are missing their Evolution Decks, and have a placeholder so the script doesn't break. I was unable to find their deck images during restoration. If you know where to find the files, contact me and I'll update the mod again!

Sorry to hear. It's understandable that motivation is low when something like that happens.

That's awful, sorry you have to deal with that!

I want to (once again) voice appreciation for the work you did on this mod in the past. This mod is surely not a priority for you - especially after losing so much data - but I do hope we get to see its return when you have the time to restore it.

I hosted all of my assets on discord for years and years, but they recently changed it to where uploads are deleted over time, so every link I've made for years was broken overnight and I've just been ignoring how much data I lost. :steamfacepalm:

I still have all of the assets for this project cached on this pc, it's just a matter of finding those files, uploading them properly one at a time through steam, and replacing script/GUID references to bad objects... I'll get around to this Soon™ when I have more free time.

This looks very promising, but the asset links are dead. Any chance of fixing them?

Thank you for this mod! Easily the best King of Tokyo mod on TTS.

Worth noting that the mod is missing character: Cybertooth (2019).

Now THIS is a mod made for gaming! Thank *you* for creating and sharing this mod. I've yet to have a chance to play it since I already played last night with another mod (I didn't know for sure if this was a complete latest edition and unfortunately your reply came after the game night had ended), but I've briefly loaded it to check it out and found this to be an awesome setup that's clearly made and ready for online play.
I've played KoT on another online site which appears to have the latest complete content, and the only thing I'm aware of that's missing in your mod is the "Even More Wicked" gauge, which according to BBG is from the Dark edition of KoT and now an official mini expansion. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/364182/king-tokyo-even-more-wicked

There are several KoT Dark version mods available on the workshop here, perhaps you could get the files from there to combine into a completely uptodate version? :)
