Well if you looked at the old version with (Beta) in the name, it's pretty much not the same animation, the older ones are bigger, the puff ring doesn't appear on the upper side, and the debris effect are rougher
The new version is actually traced on the explosions seen in Zelda four swords which share the same style as windwaker (it's pretty clear if you compare them side by side)
Yeah but that's how it looks in the source material and I have no plan to shorten it, I just think it's a satisfying looking explosion
Yeah, it's pretty much hit or miss everytime you boot up the game, it either crash on the first explosion, or not at all
but I've recently updated the animation, the issue was the excessive amount of layers, I've reduced the amount so hopefully there's no problem now
