Description
What if loyal vassals rose up with their liege against hostile factions? Loyal To A Fault introduces a new Loyalist Faction, which loyal vassals can join, to deter and defend against hostile factions.

Loyal To A Fault is a Mostly Mechanical Mod that aims to switch up factions, and giving AI an edge against overwhelming destabilizing forces.
Updated for 1.8.*
The mod is not Achievement compatible, but it is savegame compatible.

Loyalty

Vassals now have a Loyalty value towards their liege.

A Vassal's Loyalty determines how likely they are to join the Loyalist Faction, and defend the Realm against domestic threats. It depends heavily on their personality, their personal relationship with their liege, and their liege's Tyranny.

Although loyal Vassals are likely to join the Loyalist Faction, they might not do so if they're Intimidated, or if the liege is in Debt - after all, no one likes to be on the losing side.

Furthermore, a Vassal's loyalty does not always supersede their personal interest: they might be loyal to the Crown, but seek nonetheless to put another Claimant on the Throne.

Loyalist Faction

The Loyalist Faction's Military Power will deter Hostile Factions by increasing the Power Treshold necessary for hostile factions to press their demand.

Should war be declared, the Loyalist Faction will be called in the war, and fight with their Liege to the end.

Loyalty vs Opinion

Opinion in CK3 is very fickle, with a never-ending game of they like me / they like me not between lieges and vassals, as Opinion includes a lot of circumstancial modifiers.

Loyal To A Fault aims to move most of the Opinion modifiers that directly relate to the vassal/liege relationship to Loyalty. In the current build, the following opinion modifiers have received that treatment:
- Powerful Vassal not on the council
- Having a claim on the ruler's titles
- Clan Vassal not allied to their liege
- Feudal/Clan/Republic vassal to a Tribal liege
- Cultural Acceptance opinion modifier remains, but isn't twice as bad for vassals anymore

As a consequence, compared to the original release, Loyalty is lower accross the board, but Vassal opinion is higher - and more stable.

Is there a way to see which factors are influencing the loyalty amount, similar to how opinion gives you the list of all the contributing info?

even if you don't update this, thanks for making it, if you don't get to it in the summer, still wanna say it was a pretty dope mod!

I definitely intend to, but can't commit to any kind of timing currently

will this be updated relatively soon since STA was recently updated?

It doesn't hurt my feelings. I just genuinely don't understand how a loading screen that promotes an event celebrating the very mods you're using could ruin your enjoyment of the game - but I don't have to. That's your prerogative as much as it is mine to include the loading screen, so no hard feelings either way.

One reason I don't understand it is, for about a year now, when you load a savegame after one of my mods has been updated, you get an alert that pops up a changelog. It's not advertised in the description, and terrible for immersion, yet not once did I ever get a complaint about it. So I'm not convinced that's really the issue here.

But mods: they're free, lose them if you don't enjoy them, it's all fine. For what it's worth, the ModCon loading screen will be gone in 3 weeks, but the mods will still be there (+ a couple of new things that will be revealed during the event).

Stik, I understand that it might hurt your feelings, but I didn't ask it to annoy you I asked because your mods still work and is still good. But seeing an add for a modcon when it isn't an interest is to put it nicely, annoying.

But I will do as I said, if it isn't possible to remove, then I will unsub. And I suggest you rethink why it annoyed you so much, to be called out for putting things that wasn't in the description in the mod.

Well it's not in that mod, which isn't even working because it hasn't been updated in ages.

Feel free to unsubscribe all of my mods if a loading screen to promote ModCon offends you, I could not care less.

And you can probably unsubscribe all mods, because most of them don't list every little thing they change in their steam description.

Anyway to remove the "modcon3" loading screen, if not then I will remove it as it looks horrible, and it wasn't part of the mod's description.
