The Midland Hotel is a fine example of railway architecture from the Victorian era. The Hotel was built to house guests travelling on the Midland Main Line Railway, who terminus shares the building with the grand hotel. The building has 207 rooms spread over 5 floors, along with the grand hotel lobby, vast ballroom, spacious bar, panelled dining room and external leisure facilities such as tennis courts, a band stand and a hedge maze. Limited parking is avaliable at the front of the hotel for VIP guests and both train and bus stations are easily accessible to the eastern end of the hotel.
