⭐️𝐓𝐒𝐔𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐎𝐊𝐎--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His name is Tootsie the Tsuchinoko. My brother calls him "pancake."

Type:
Terrestrial Life

Rarity Level:
◆◆◆◆◆

Conditions:
None

Location:
-Caverns of El Dorado (Can be found in Area 1 near the cannons and at the end of the long slide at the camp, next to a Chillshroom.)
-Origin Isle (Right outside camp, next to the hitching post. You'll see it scurrying around for a few seconds and then diving into the ground if you don't have a ghillie mantle on. That's where I found mine. I freaked out, but caught it at the last moment.)

Extra Info:
Really rare. Also adorable. Those beady eyes... I highly recommend you use ghillie mantle, even though it does take a few seconds before you completely lose it. You don't want to risk letting it escape if you're serious about capturing it. If you spot it late, you may not have time to put on your mantle before its gone, so get out your net and bag it.

Need Ghillie Mantle?:
OPTIONAL
Unclassified Life
𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍𝐘 𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐊𝐄------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-
Type:
Unclassified Life

Rarity Level:
◆◆◆◆◇

Conditions:
None

Location:
-Ancient Forest (Found riding on the back of the Aptonoth right outside camp 1.)
-Wildspire Waste (Found riding on the back of the Apceros right outside camp 1.)
-Coral Highlands (Found riding on the back of a Grandfather Mantagrell in Area 12, but only while doing the event quest "Skyward Snipers". Guaranteed spawn. To capture them, you could shoot down the mantagrell but you have to be quick about it.)

Extra Info:
They spawn in groups on the backs of animals. You usually hear them peeping like a chick before you see them if they are nearby, so pull out your mantle quickly. If they flee, they are really quick and will escape. Cutest creatures in Monster Hunter World.

Need Ghillie Mantle?:
YES

𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐋𝐘 𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐊𝐄 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

-
Type:
Unclassified Life

Rarity Level:
◆◆◆◆◇

Conditions:
None

Location:
-Rotten Vale (Found riding on the back of the Mosswine near camp 1. DO NOT waste any time. Just exit the camp and jump down. Turn left and left again once you reach open area. Put on ghillie mantle right before you step into open area. A mosswine will appear in a crawl tunnel, with the bristly crake on its back. Wait for swine to crawl out completely, then net it. Can also be found near camp 11. Do not remove ghillie mantle and immediately travel to camp 11 on wingdrake if you're doing this in the same investigation. Quickly jump down twice and turn right into the acid pools area. Venture on the right side until you find vines leading up to a cave. Climb them and run straight forward until you reach the area where the Grimalkyne Plunderers like to stay. Make and sharp left and the mosswine should be walking out of the crawl space with a crake on its back. Will take a few tries to learn the directions to both areas. I recommend venturing to both areas in the same investigation, while the ghillie mantle lasts, in order to have a higher chance of the crake spawning.)
-Elder's Recess (Found riding on the back of the Gastodon in Area 5 and 11.)
-The Guided Lands (Found riding on top of a Solider Helmcrab in Area 12 in the Rotten Vale biome. It's quite cute actually. May be a little hard to spot, since it camouflages with the ground. Also found in Area 14 in the Elder's Recess biome on top of a gastodon.)

Extra Info:
Spawns alone, riding on the backs of animals. A lot larger than downy crakes, and doesn't peep, but rather lets out an odd but cute moaning sound. It kinda sounds like it's sighing, but it's hard to hear, so don't count on sound to let you know it's there. If they flee, they are really quick and will escape.

Need Ghillie Mantle?:
YES

𝐂𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐑 𝐂𝐔𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 -------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's how it looks like when it's running. Sneaky things... It's always those classic, low quality, blurred photos that capture the rare creature dashing away...

Type:
Unclassified Life

Rarity Level:
◆◆◆◇◇

Conditions:
Mostly during storms

Location:
-Wildspire Waste (Found running around the rocks in camp 1, right after you exit the camp. Also found running through the cactus plants in Area 6.)

Extra Info:
It's pretty small and kicks up dust when it runs, making it easier to spot. Will sometimes pause and silently make fun of you for missing your net. Makes squeaking noises. An idiot. Not that rare. You could seriously make a collection of these things.

Need Ghillie Mantle?:
NO

⭐️𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐑 𝐂𝐔𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 ------------------------------------------------------

This stupidly wonderful thing.

Type:
Unclassified Life

Rarity Level:
◆◆◆◆◇

Conditions:
None

Location:
-Wildpsire Waste (Found in Area 5 at the highest point in all the Waste. It'll be sitting in the Blissbill nest. Also found in Area 6 in the same cactus field as the Cactuar Cutting. Can also be found hiding in the Palico bag in Area 11. Right under your nose in the camp! If you don't see it right away and don't put on ghillie mantle, the cutting will flee after a few seconds. It's a heartstopper. I would know. It happened to me.)

Extra Info:
Rarer than its cousins. Super sneaky and cunning. It's still an idiot, but the flower sprouting from its head makes it a cute idiot.

Need Ghillie Mantle?:
OPTIONAL (Recommended you use ghillie mantle if it spawns in the Palico bag.)

⭐️𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐎𝐎𝐍 𝐍𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 ----------------------------------------------------------------

You'll want this in your room.

Type:
Unclassified Life

Rarity Level:
◆◆◆◆◆

Conditions:
Night, clear weather

Location:
-Hoarfrost Reach (Found floating around in Area 14. You can access this area from Area 13. Spawn at camp 5 and open up your map. Hover over Area 13 and tag the bomberry on the highest point of the Area. This will make the scoutflies lead you to the location. Follow them until you reach a ravine thing and grapple onto the wedge beetle, and then grapple onto the furthest wedge beetle facing forward. Then, turn around and look up, then grapple onto that wedge beetle. Swing into this small open area and jump down into that cave area. Jump between two walls and then grab the ice wall. Proceed to climb up until you jump into the smaller area. Now jump between two walls again until you reach the top. Turn right and grapple onto the wedge beetle. Wait for the ice geyser to blow, and reach the higher rock wall. Climb up and venture until you find an ice wall with drawings carved into it. Grapple onto the wedge beetle above it. Make a sharp left onto a small path that leads you up the mountain. Climb up the ice wall, and finally, you're at the highest point in the Reach! This is the only spawn location of the Nettle.)

Extra Info:
Best thing to do is camp out at the top of the mountain until it reaches nighttime. You don't need to switch between biomes to make it appear. Camp out until it becomes night, then day, then night. You may go afk during daytime, but remember to check up on it later on, because it only floats around for a few minutes before de-spawning. The Nettle can spawn anytime during the clear night. Could take up to seven hours to spawn. Ikr?!

Need Ghillie Mantle?:
OPTIONAL (You don't need it, but if you wanna make SURE not to lose it during the up-to-seven-hour-wait-time, put on ghillie mantle JUUUST in case. At least that's what I'll do, because of my paranoia when I think of losing it... [edit: took me seven hours but I got it])

𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐘 𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐎𝐖 ⇩
All Molys (Must Read Info)
𝐎𝐊𝐀𝐘... 𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐘 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄!
I squished all the Moly types into one section of the guide to keep everything simple and organized. I won't mention the regular Moly, because I personally don't think it's considered RARE endemic life. But here's a photo anyway.

-
𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐎 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐘𝐒!
In order to even have the chance of a rare Moly spawning in your Guiding Lands, you must get that biome to level 5 or higher. If you want to find (example) the Fluffy Moly first, focus on getting your Coral Highlands biome to level 5. The higher the level, the better. (If you want to know which rare Moly belongs to which biome, just scroll down to each of the Moly's spawn locations.)

𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐓𝐎 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐁𝐈𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋
To increase the level of your selected biome, you have to investigate every monster track in that area. When Kulu-Ya-Ku walks through the Wildspire Waste region, investigate each track it leaves behind by stalking it wherever it goes. That will slowly increase the level of your biome. To check to the biome's level, just press M while in the Guidling Lands. On the right side of your screen, you'll see the symbol of each biome and its level. A bar underneath will indicate how close you are to the next level. Leveling biomes is a grind, but if you're passionate about having a full rare Moly collection in your room, it may be worth it. Here are some other ways to level up your biome:

1. Break monster parts in that region.

2. Break monster parts of a monster *native* to that region.

3. Capture or slay monsters in that region.

4. Trap a monster.

Doing these things will help increase the level of that biome.

❗️ 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄 ❗️
Increasing one biome's level, will decrease the other biome's levels (if you're hunting a monster exclusive to that region.) You can focus on leveling up one or two biomes and capturing the rare Molys there, then switching to leveling up *other* biomes whenever you're ready. I'm not sure if picking up tracks will decrease another biome's level, though.

❗️ 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐘𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐑𝐄 𝐆𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐄 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 ❗️
Yes, even the regular Moly. The Molys will flee if:

a monster enters the region and walks past them

or if *you* enter the region and walk past them. (Without ghillie mantle.)

If scared, the Molys will all bury their heads underground and dig a tunnel before escaping completely. Once they bury under, you can no longer net them. But, sometimes, when not scared, the Moly can bury half of its head into the dirt for a few seconds. When they do that, you still can't net them. They have to have their heads completely out of the dirt to net them. Molys spawn in groups with (possibly) one rare one in the group. Each region has TWO spawn locations of the Molys and the rare Moly that may live there.

𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐅𝐅
If you capture just one Moly, a new item will be unlocked in your room in Seliana, known as the "Moly Pipes." You can house every rare Moly and one common Moly in these pipes, since there is one pipe for each type of Moly. Just click "Place Your Pets" from your housekeeper and scroll to the last row of pet-placing locations, and the pipes should be there!

❗️ ALSO, you may be wondering why I'm asking you to get your region to level 5, when it clearly caps out at level 4! To increase the max level capacity, you must completed these new Assigned quests:

MR 49 and Guiding Lands region level 4 required:
"Sleep Now in the Fire." = Region Level 5 Cap

MR 69 and Guiding Lands region level 5 required:
"Big Burly Bash." = Region Level 6 Cap

MR 99 required and Guiding Lands region level 6 required:
"To the Very Ends With You." = Region Level 7 Cap

You need to have the required MR and at least one region leveled up to the required level.

Completing these quests allows you to increase your max level capacity for your regions. Obviously, the level 7 cap is really good for a higher chance of rare Molys spawning.

❗️Type: Unclassified Life

❗️Rarity Level for each rare Moly: ◆◆◆◇◇
❗️Rarity Level for regular Molys: ◆◆◇◇◇

❗️Conditions: None

❗️Need Ghillie Mantle?: YES

Finally... SO MUCH STUFF YOU GOTTA DO FOR MOLY'S SAKE!

Here we go!

𝐌𝐎𝐒𝐒𝐘 𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐘-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-
Location:
-The Guiding Lands (Ancient Forest biome in Area 6. Also found in Area 7 near the Honey.)

Extra Tip:
The Mossy Moly has an afro of grass on its head and tiny flowers sprouting out of it.

𝐑𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐘 𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐘-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-
Location:
-The Guiding Lands (Wildspire Waste biome in Area 8 all the way to the top of the sand hill. Also found in Area 9 next to the cactus and Kestodon/Apceros.)

Extra Info:
This rare Moly wears a helmet made out of what looks like monster hide or rock.

𝐅𝐋𝐔𝐅𝐅𝐘 𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐘----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ah, yes. My favorite Moly type.

Location:
-The Guiding Lands (Coral Highlands biome in Area 10 near the small pond where the Grimalkynes spawn. Also found in Area 11 on the top of the ridge.)

Extra Info:
This Moly type is covered in fluffy pink spores, and tends to "explode" from time to time if placed in a pipe. (I dunno if it's sneezing or what.)

𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐘 𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐘------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-
Location:
-The Guiding Lands (Rotten Vale biome in Area 12 around the ivy plant. Also spawns in Area 13 near the Devil's Blight.)

Extra Info:
This Moly has glowing eyes and long claws and spikes. When placed in a pipe, it acts kinda like a zombie, trembling and scraping its claws with its tongue sticking out. You guud, bro?

𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐘 𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐘----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-
Location:
-The Guiding Lands (Hoarfrost Reach biome [can be unlocked] in Area 16 near the Thunderbug. Also found in Area 16 near the Flashbug.)

Extra Info:
A soft, white Moly found in the snow. Shivers a lot.

𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐃𝐘 𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐘----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-
Location:
-The Guiding Lands (Elder's Recess biome, aka Volcanic biome [can be unlocked] in Area 14 near the Mandragora. Also found in Area 15 surrounding the Mightseed.)

Extra Tip:
This Moly type has a large red mohawk. Sparks fly out of it whenever it moves. Likes to headbang.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

❗️ 𝐘𝐄𝐒, 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐅𝐅. 𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍. ❗️
To unlock the Hoarfrost Reach region and Elder's Recess region, you must complete these quests:

Hoarfrost Reach biome: "Across the Lost Path."

Elder's Recess biome: "Sterling Pride." Special Assignment by the Admiral.

maybe something that should be added: tyrant hopper, i dont know if its rare, but the rarity is 4. it spawns in the same area 1 place that bristly crake can spawn
AysaMetric 4 Feb @ 11:30pm
Might be worth adding the King Marlin/Great King Marlin. Spawns in the ocean in Ancient Forest area 4 and Hoarfrost Reach area 9, mostly during sunny clear weather.

when trying to net the mantagrell crakes you can just shoot down the mantagrell, as long as you're quick with it.
Sugarbubbz 19 Jul, 2023 @ 1:41pm
I finally found the rare downy crake and unlock that drink in the canteen using this guide (seriously I really don't know why the canteen unlocks were designed in such a poor manner where you have to look up stuff online for days). Thank you so much op <3
Tallie_Bandz 7 Jul, 2023 @ 7:45pm
I think moly in hoarfrost biome broken or smth. They never poke up their head.
Draken 3 Jul, 2023 @ 4:04am
Dapper Coralbirds do flee when the Capture Net is fired but like other coral birds come back if for instance if a monster spooks them or for some reason your net bags the other 3 coral birds and not the Dapper boi, the only way he despawns from a missed net is if it's daytime or dawn
