Warhammer 40K Dice Roll Calculator

Description
Update:
added hotkeys to use for target and defender. Much easier and smoother than using the buttons

This mod is a helper tool for when playing Warhammer 40k in Tabletop Simulator. When using the tool and selecting an attacker it will fetch all of their weapons and list them in the UI with their stats. After then selecting a target, it automatically calculates all wound and save rolls against them for each weapon. It also has -/+ buttons over each stat which you can tweak in case you need to modify them for any reason (abilities/stratagems etc). I’ve also added a basic tick box feature over each weapon which allows you to keep track of which weapons you have resolved this phase.

I built the tool because I was sick of constantly moving back and forth over models to get their stats everytime time I changed weapon or had to calculate a new roll. The tool removes all these annoyances and gives you an “at a glance” view, which helps in deciding what weapons are more effective than others against the current target (so you may direct these at another (softer) target).

IMPORTANT: This mod only works with models that have been formatted with Yellowscribe. This is a requirement because the tool can only read the stats from a Yellowscribe formatted model. If you’ve never heard of Yellowscribe, please download that mod first and format your army models with it – this mod comes with a few Yellowscribe formatted models so you can see how the tool works with them.

If this mod is still being supported by the author, I would like to know if the possibility of resizing it would be available by chance as it would make it easier for players on higher resolutions.
especially for players who use ultra wide monitors or like some of my friends who use small TVs instead? greatly appreciate the mod itself and the work put in to make it. TY:steamhappy:

Hey, your mod was really interesting. I'd love to see if I can help you update it for 10th edition 40k.

T_Jay, that's the same rez as me. I just loaded it up and checked again and I don't have any problems reading the numbers, even at first glance. I actually would edit it for you if wasn't such a big job. The issue though is that Tabletop Sim UI layouts are horrible to code. Those numbers (strength/AP) have no wiggle room to get any bigger, if I do increase the font, they spill out of the container and everything looks ugly. To fix it, I'd need to redo the entire layout to make everything bigger, which is a big job. Coding a colour change would also take some time (for the same reason that TTS API is very cumbersome). I might take another look though when I do the next update to it ;-)

My resolution is 1920 x 1080. Ideally I would like to get the infomation at a glance but it takes me a second or two to read the numbers when I switch units, particularly the editable numbers like strength and AP that have a smaller font. I do have a level of short-sightedness and am due to increase the power on my glasses soon so maybe that's why it takes me a moment but other text on the computer are fine for me. If making the font editable would take more than an hour of your time then there's no need cause this mod is impressive enough as it is.

T_Jay, can you be a bit more specific please? I Just had another look at it and I feel the text is fine and easy to read as is. Do you have vision impairments like colour blindness? If no, what is your screen resolution set to? If you res is really high, it will make the text harder to read

I'm teaching a new player to play Warhammer and this is a great tool for it. However, I find it takes me a moment to read the info. Could you change or at least add an option to change the background colour and/or make the font bold so it's even quicker to read?

@Claivain, I just tested it noe on him and it worked fine for me. Can you send me your rosz file in discord and I'll check? My handle is BeastMode#1318

The update seems to have fixed everything other than Kaldor Draigo (as a warlord, don't know if that bit matters)!

Great job! Thanks :)

@cClavain,
It is now fixed. The issue was due to a bug in TTS itself and I had to implement a workaround.
Much thanks to @Sana for providing the models for me to test and confirm it on.
