I had this issue too - here is how I fixed it:
===
1. Navigate to the mod files in your file system using your preferred file explorer
(for me, in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\2761186245")
2. There were three folders - "About", "Defs", and "Things". Create a fourth folder called "Textures" here.
3. Drag the existing "Things" folder into that new "Textures" folder.
4. Relaunch RimWorld if you have it open (the texture needs to be there during initialization to be added to the texture atlas)
===
The author could perform that change and update the mod to fix it, or (possibly?) correct the file path defined in the XML for the ship - though I'm not sure if you can use relative paths such as "../Things/[and so on]" to specify the parent directory.
I'll check it out
A bit more lightwheigt though.There's no normal alien stuff out there so i might as well start.
