Description
Mauser Kar98k with a trench magazine from Raid: World War II

The most commonly issued rifle of Germany during WWII. Although as long as its counterparts, it is called a "carbine", being a shorter version of a rather long Gewehr 98. Its bolt action mechanism is legendary. Being a Mauser, it is a valuable addition to anyone's collection, especially actual war-issued specimens. The last-ditch models, however, were much simplified and suffered a significant drop in quality, and are known as "Kriegsmodell"s.

Replaces the "AWP" (model only)

This was a challenge, because I needed to do some editing tricks with the animations. And even though the Lee-Enfield has a differently placed bolt handle, this model fit the animations somewhat fine. So here you go - the Karabiner with a rare 20-round magazine, reloaded with four entire stripper clips. Twenty rounds for a bolt action always seemed ridiculous on the in-game AWP, but it turns out such things exist in real life. Funnily enough, this magazine model is completely unused in Raid WW2 itself, only the shorter one is used as an upgrade. Other upgrade models include a weird longer barrel with a hooded front sight, semi-pistol grip stock, and by default the gun uses an unrealistic butt plate, in addition to the optional scope. The world model is semi-animated as the magazine is moved (which isn't quite how this magazine extension works in reality as it isn't detachable) but the bolt isn't, just like on my previous Lee-Enfield. I will upload some Raid sound mods soon; unfortunately, they are a mess, and not every sound is extracted.

funny thing is i wrote a long comment but closed the window ingame by a mistake. however i see you ofc and elon musk would be bitin his nails if you invented that gun with trench magazine plus optics, just sayin :)

Over the years I've encountered all sorts of commenters. I just want you to know my reasons to make this specific setup over anything else at my disposal, and I want to know your intentions. Sometimes I prefer realism and historical accuracy while at other times I just make stuff that barely makes sense for the sake of it.

In this particular case I just wanted to show off the trench magazine model I exported from Raid WWII; a model that goes unused in the game itself! And it actually holds 20 rounds like the default L4D2 AWP.

bro, why did you get so serious about that. i just made my suggestion. that doesnt mean i dont like this gun. im not trying to seem smart or else. i appreciate your work and contribution. people like you make our games flawless for nothing. and i would be thankful if you do that optics version thank you.

The most important reason, however, is that the sniper versions were never issued with the "trench magazines". I might make a scoped alternative version at some point with a less outlandish magazine.

The actual ZF41 scope is shorter than the one on the air gun you've sent me.

The Mosin mod has its rear sight replaced with a modern rail interface for mounting scopes.

Oh, and don't make me tell you NOT to use the scope function or unbind the middle mouse button; that makes people think they've been outsmarted or something.

by sayin in front of, i meant, in front of the area where you reload. i guess there is a place for mounting scope stg-44 has that rail too ofc.

like in this site: https://gunfire.com/en/products/kar98k-rifle-replica-spring-powered-polymer-version-optics-1152229441.html

https://gunfire.com/en/products/sw-022a-kar98-real-wood-rifle-replica-with-scope-1152222203.html

and this person did it for mosin:

https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1769821890&searchtext=mosin

compared to the other ww2 guns i think mosin has the smallest scope with stg-44. if you managed to add it there, it could be nice. just a suggestion btw.

Mosin never mounted anything in front of it. German rifles, however, did have a smol scope such as the one you can see on my StG 44 mod.
Hax 18 Sep, 2022 @ 1:59am
smol sight can be added in front or side of the weapon similiar to mosin. but i am not a modder i dont how things work with animations. in the other hand it would be incosistent with this weapons ethnics. kinda love it or hate it vibes goin on here if you ask me.

It would be impossible to reload with stripper clips this way.
