DESCRIPTION

When the NQAF started noticing the their M1A0 Devastators shortcomings in combat it was decided that the NQAF needed a new MBT. NordhalLunden eventually won the subsequent bidding war and was contracted to manufacture the new MBT. The result of this program was the M2A0 "Rook". The M2A0 is a 3rd generation MBT that is equipped with a number of advanced features. The main features of the M2A0 are the advanced fire control system, the electronic warfare suite and the unmanned turret. Despite the lower mobility compared to the Devastator the Rook makes it up in armour protection.

The A1 upgrade is a comprehensive upgrade to the M2 main battle tank stock featuring an overhaul to the targeting, fire control and gun stabilisation systems. The upgrade package also introduced a number of survivability upgrades namely the overhauled softkill APS and LWR systems these electronic countermeasures combined with the fitment of new generation ERA and composite elements greatly increased the survivability. The M2A1 features a new autoloaded 130mm gun with new generation ammunition along with this firepower upgrade for the gunner the commanders RCWS recived a new 25mm autocannon for engaging close range soft targets. Along with these offensive and defensive upgrades the M2A1 features an overhauled engine allowing for increased mobility.

OPERATION

DRIVER
1. Flick the PRIMARY POWER BREAKER located in the frontal panel.
   
2. Flick the TURBINE MASTER switch in the frontal panel.
   
3. Flick the INSTRUMENT PANEL switch in the frontal panel.
   
4. Deactivate parking brake by press 1 and shift up from neutral using UP/DOWN.

COMMANDER
1. Flick the RCWS and COMMANDER INSTRUMENT POWER in the frontal panel.
   
2. Flick the ARM RCWS switch and press the RCWS FIRE CONTROL SYSTEM button in the frontal panel, the RCWS is fired from seat TRIGGER hotkey.
   
3. To use Hunter-Killer system press 1, the gunners systems need to be enabled for this to function.
   
4. To use the softkill APS flick the ARM APS switch located in the center console.

GUNNER
1. Press the GUNNER SYSTEMS and GUNNER MASTER ARM buttons on the frontal panel.
   
2. Flick the PERISCOPE and FIRE CONTROL SYSTEM switches in the frontal panel
   
3. Coaxial machine gun is fired via the 1 hotkey and main gun via TRIGGER.
