DOAXVV Menu Backgound Part 1 (No Sound)

Replaces the animated background in the menu screen with the opening cutscenes of various characters in Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation. Sound has been removed in this version to allow you to keep your existing custom menu soundtrack.

Mod is broken up into two parts due to Steam Workshop upload size limitations.

To ensure these videos play at launch and not when workshop addons are loaded afterwards, additional installation is required.


(Optional) Backup existing menu background .bik video files located in the ".../Steam/steamapps/common/Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/media" directory if you ever need to switch them back. These files are named "l4d2_background0x.bik" from 1 to 5.

1. Find the downloaded VPK file in your ".../Steam/steamapps/common/Left 4 Dead 2/addons/workshop" directory.
   
   
2. Open the VPK using GCFscape
   Download: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/GCFScape
   
   
3. Extract all of the l4d2_background0x.bik files into the ".../Steam/steamapps/common/Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/media" directory.
   
   
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 for Part 2 of mod.
   
   
5. Launch the game and wonder if you're playing L4D2 or DOAXVV.

If you have various different tracks for your main menu soundtrack, you can re-name the "l4d2_background0x.bik" file names manually to better suite your tracks. For your reference, the files in this mod and its corresponding characters are as follows:

1. l4d2_background01.bik -> Momiji
   
2. l4d2_background02.bik -> Honoka
   
3. l4d2_background03.bik -> Misaki
   
4. l4d2_background04.bik -> Kokoro
   
5. l4d2_background05.bik -> Marie Rose
