World Tank Battles 2

Description
World Tank Battles 2 (ワールドタンクバトルズ2) is a relatively simple two-player war simulation, released in Japan in 2003. In the 2000s, 1/144 miniature tanks called World Tank Museum became popular in Japan, and several simple war simulations were created that use these tanks directly as playing pieces.

World Tank Battles 2 uses tanks from WTM's Japan Ground Self-Defense Force(JGSDF) series.

In July 20XX, a mysterious giant monster appeared in a fictional Japanese city. In addition to the chaos and carnage the Monster has caused, political obstacles have delayed the deployment of the JGSDF. So the Director General of the Defense Agency is about to mobilize the troops on his own, without waiting for a decision from the government. Meanwhile, the monsters are about to unleash their hidden and terrifying power....

In the game, you play either a commander of the JGSDF or the Monster. The theme and some of the systems may remind you of "The Creature That Ate Sheboygan". In addition to that, World Tank Battles 2 has homages and parodies to kaiju films and anime.

Originally, the game came with several paper components, including buildings, bridges, monsters, and even substitute miniatures to use if you didn't have a WTM tank. However, they were in very poor condition by the time I rediscovered the game in 2022, having actually been used in the game several times and having been stored in a less-than-appropriate environment for a long time. As such, most of them have been replaced with simpler alternatives. However, everything you need for the game should be there.

Unfortunately, this game was never released outside of Japan. So, the rulebook is only available in Japanese. If anyone is interested in translating it, please contact me.

The game was designed by Wataru Horiba and released by Kokusai-Tsushin Co. If you like the game, please support the creators.
