Clean Galaxy Map - Borders Only

Description
A simple and clean Galaxy Map view. This version only changes the country color/border rendering by removing the dust and nebula colors and smoothing the country colors.

My preferred combined version here:
Clean Galaxy Map

I recommend adding graphics mods:
Remove Galaxy Glow
No Names on the Map
Quadrant Fixed
Softer Hyperlanes
Flat Nameplates
Light Borders
Whiter Stars

Achievement Compatible

Copy that, I've replicated the issue and solution. Thanks @Zephreo for taking the time to post your solution. Update incoming.

That's weird it worked for both me and another friend. I don't actually know what it does but I saw it was used to fix another similar mod

@Zephreo
the "constants.fxh" line is already in both of those files for me, and I'm still getting the no border problem when this mod is active.

For 3.12 to fix the borders not working:

1. Open folder: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\2689070687\gfx\FX"
2. Open files "galaxy_dust.shader" and "galaxy_nebula.shader" in any editor
3. Replace first 3 lines with next 4 lines (add "constants.fxh"):
Includes = {
"constants.fxh"
"terra_incognita.fxh"
}

4. Play the game

@RumilAst1001 Glad to hear this mod can help you! As for your troubleshooting, unfortunately I couldn't find the indicated BOSS collection. That said, I can give some general recommendations.

This mod only changes a few files:

FX/
galaxy_dust.shader
galaxy_nebula.shader
map/
dust.dds
nebula.dds

Those are all art assets, so short of a major art overhaul update from Paradox they should always be compatible with the game. I don't expect any version issues to crop up.

However, with other mods I'd recommend testing this mod by itself first to make sure it works and then testing it at various places in your load order. You can always start with it loaded last and then move it up the order list until everything looks good to you. If you run other graphics mods that change those same files above there's the potential for conflict. Only the last mod to make a change will show up in game.

I hope that helps!

Hello, Thank you so much for this mod. This mod allows me to play stellaris. I am a member of the llow vision community and with this mod removes allot of the fog and other graophical stuff that cluders my field of vision. So thank you.. Is this mod fully updated. I run NCS2, but will not activate in the mod section because its un updated. Is it because with some mods?

I am trying to figure out if the mod is not functioning because of other mods I have or if the main program is in conflict. Can you please give some advise. If you look at collections called BOSS that whill give you a good list of the mod function under.

Good question. I believe they overwrite a fair bit of the same files, though IBU is much more extensive. Would be interested to hear if you give it a try. I'd say load IBU first and then this later, or else you will probably only see the IBU changes.

Is this compactible with the IBU galaxy mod ?

@Callisto Cafe, Glad to hear it :)

@Alex.M, Yep, this is achievement compatible. I'll add that to the description
