Infinite Portable Containers [Obsolete]

Description
Update
Infinite Portable Containers: Modded Edition was updated with a new code that allows it automatically find and edit all the containers in the game, making it future-proof and theoretically compatible with any mod. That was the original intention of this mod and therefore this version became redundant and obsolete. It is suggested to switch to that version instead. Thanks for the support so far!

Description
Vanilla portable containers have 100% weight reduction and increased carry capacity, making them effectively infinite. This is obviously a cheat mod, with no balance in mind.

Dependencies
This mod requires Item Tweaker API.

Compatibility
This mod focuses exclusively on vanilla portable containers. Infinite Portable Containers: Modded Edition is a complementary and independent version that will also change containers from popular mods (but still requires this mod for vanilla items).

Other suggested mods:

Known Issues
  • If you drop a container on the ground with a weight exceeding anything you can carry, you will be unable to pick it up/equip it anymore in your main inventory. A workaround for that is to equip another "infinite" container on one of your hands and then pick up the dropped container in the one in your hands. From there you can simply equip it again on your back or treat it as any other container. Alternatively, you can use Weight Void or similar mods that adds negative weight cheat items.
  • You can add this mod to ongoing saves, however it's possible that won't affect containers you already own. In that case, only newly looted containers will have their capacity changed.

Updates
Last ProjectZomboid version checked: 41.78. As long as Item Tweaker API works, this mod should keep working even in future versions, but new containers won't be altered until the mod is updated.

@PenguBlue Good job! Your new code was exactly what I wanted to do with this mod, but couldn't. I think this mod is now obsolete then.

I have updated my Modded Version which now includes base game items (and should for the foreseeable future unless PZ changes how items work). It will now include ALL modded items as well, new old, updated, you name it, it should be supported. Thank you so much Leviathan for letting me make a modded version in the first place! I Hope you don't mind that my version now also supports base game items. If you would like your mod to continue supporting base game items I can create a blacklist in my mod to keep out base game items from my mod.

I genuinely love your mod, thank you for stating where the lua file was, I was able to safely edit what I wanted each bag in the game to have carry weight wise because your mod makes it safe to!

@Quilava Don't edit the game files, that's why you make a mod. At worst, it will just crush your game, so do test it on new saves first and not your ongoing games. If you read some basic guides online and look how the mods are made, you should learn quickly how to create a basic mod such as this one. I myself didn't do any "coding", I just basically copied and pasted stuff and you just have to literally copy the "modded edition" version and add a few lines.

I suggest using Notepad++ or Visual Studio (useful to open an entire directory at once) to edit the files.

such shame, im very bad at edit stuff, also scare i may damage something important i dont know, oh well, i will try to find away around anyway, thank for the reply

@Quilava I can't really make it because I will never maintain it with all the mods (it's the reason I never created it myself in the first place). If you just want a version for your favourite mod, you should consider making a local mod for yourself. It's really not complicated, because this mod just use Item Tweaker and basically is just a list of items. If you open the only lua file of the mod, you can immediately understand how it works and you just need to add the lines with the items you want to change. So you can just use the "Modded Edition" as a base to create your own mod and add there all the items you want from the mods you use. You just need to know the codename of those items which you can find out by inspecting those mods.

Pardon me again, i use the modded version in description, but im noticed still many bag dont have infinite carry weigh (only about 1/5 of the container does), the author havent update the mod for sometime now, im already ask for update but no respond for the time

Would you consider make another sub mod for Brita container? I really want to wear other bag and pouch

yeah it was Customizable Containers mod. Even with default bag values on that it still wouldnt work with this. Got rid of that mod and now this is working fine <3

@Boddles Try making a new save with just this mod and Item Tweaker API. If it does work, then it's a mod conflict for sure.
