EDIT: See, this mod is a simple AI upscale. It was good enough at the time, but a great homie made a new mod that completely retextures vanilla vehicles. I'd recommend that over this mod. https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2788428718

While vehicles in vanilla have a certain charm to them, they're somewhat lacking in the visuals deparment. Your character, which is rendered pretty high res, looks weird compared to the base game vehicles with their 512x512 textures. I do not like how low resolution these textures are, so I've made this mod.
Using CUnet's 2d-illust model, all vehicle sprites have been upscaled to look much sharper. This includes everything from the vehicles themselves and their damage sprites, overlays like mud and blood, and even trailers.

Below is a comparison between old and new textures. They've been aligned perfectly to make up for any errors during the screenshotting process.




Known Issues
  • Game sometimes does not reload the texture atlas after enabling the mod, resulting in the textures from the mod not replacing the vanilla ones despite the mod being enabled. This can be fixed by restarting the game after the mod has been loaded.

I am not tracking any other issues right now. If you've found an issue with the mod, feel free to report it to me. I will do my best to fix it as soon as possible.


Also, I would like to extend my greatest thanks to Filibuster Rhymes for helping me deal with the alpha layer on textures. This mod wouldn't be out as early it is if it wasn't for him.

@Leader of the Zakonistians it is, it just makes the images marginally sharper at high zoom. at default zoom the cars simply aren't rendered with enough pixels for the change to be noticable.

It's not really clear, is this only for vanilla vehicles, or are any other modded vehicles also improved?
