Northern Line - London Underground

Description
London Underground’s Northern Line is a complex service operating to multiple branches with trains criss-crossing at key junctions. You will guide the tube trains along their routes from start of traffic until the end of the morning peak, about 5 and ¾ hours at normal speed.

Plays on a single screen.

This is a busy commuter line, generally a 3 minute headway operates but with trains every 90 seconds in places at times! This is a complex grid, best played by setting up the provided auto sensors to auto work some sections whilst you focus on a few areas of your choice, pre-select auto signals not involved with junctions or sensors. Some work must be done by you with trains exiting some sidings and depots and you’ll need to manage trains on the Kennington Loop, if you use the auto sensor from Kennington to Battersea watch for the few anticlockwise loop trains back-setting a wrong route and cancel that down (current sensor game limitations)! Auto Sensors can’t cover all the route options in places, but set those so they do nothing with some trains (eg. Hampstead to Golders Green Depot) and you can then guide those manually!

The timetable is written to ½ minutes, though game limitations mean the ½’s don’t show, so don’t panic you may have 30 more seconds than you think! Arrows in the timetable can be ignored, they are to aid location of stations on the control map.

Although most of this grid can be set to automatic running, for the best experience leave some sections for yourself to manage!

A 100% score is possible, some trains remain on the grid for 5 hours, delay them at your peril! Suggest play is over several sessions or with breaks!

Good Luck and enjoy!

Thank you for your kind words Indeed_w. I forget now why I put 055 in Finchley Central 2, I presume it goes to Mill Hill or the siding....I may have done so as a "rusty rail" movement to mimic the real system where all sets of points should be used once per day...or I may have done that if there was a potential conflict with a train in P1? Typical schedulers putting things like this in to keep signallers on their toes! ;) Thanks again!

Great map! And a whole lot of work, thank you for that one!

One minor thing: Train 055 stops in Finchley Central 2 from 08:45-08:48 and should preferably use Plattform 1
